On August 8, a blitz highly publicized by the mass media as the "Scripta
Scelera" operation was carried out against a group of anarchist comradesreferring to the newspaper Bezmotivny (Senza Motivo) and the GogliardoFiaschi Cultural Club of Carrara. The following is the press releaseissued by the comrades of the Club: ---- "At dawn today, 8 August, theState, at the hands of the Genoa prosecutor's office (in the figure ofthe public prosecutor Federico Manotti) and the DIGOS of La Spezia hasimplemented yet another repressive operation against the anarchistmovement, with which it would like to silence - as already happened overa hundred years ago with the "anti-anarchist laws" - every revolutionaryyearning and aspiration. Ten anarchist comrades are accused in thisinvestigation, including five comrades from Carrara, for whom the publicprosecutor had originally requested arrest in prison: an order that thejudge for preliminary investigations Riccardo Ghio changed into fourhouse arrests with all the restrictions, five residence obligations withnight return, and a companion without any restrictions. For one of thefour comrades who were subjected to house arrest, the GIP ordered thathe be sent to prison as he did not have a formal residence: Luigi wastherefore transferred to the La Spezia prison. In addition to the housesearches, the Anarchist Cultural Club "Gogliardo" was searched Fiaschi",historic Carrara anarchist headquarters. Magazines, books, flyers,posters and computer media were seized. The comrades are accused ofsubversive association with the aim of terrorism (art. 270 bis of thepenal code) and of incitement to commit crimes (art. 424 of the penalcode) aggravated by the aim of terrorism, in relation to thepublication, starting from 2020, of the internationalist anarchistfortnightly " Bezmotivny", as well as insulting the honor and prestigeof the president of the republic and the clandestine press.As can be seen from the precise description of the facts provided to usby the Carrarini comrades, the heavy accusations all derive from theeditorial activity revolving around the publication. What we would oncehave called an attack on freedom of expression. But it would be toosimplistic to limit ourselves to this reading. It is clear that thefreedom of expression of anarchists is always under fire, and, as CarloLevi wrote, words are stones, therefore they can hurt all the bigotssubservient to the system. So what the State is interested in is thatthose words can be silenced.And it can only be done by blocking those who pronounce and write thosewords. Anarchists are dangerous and must be eliminated.But this time the setup is clearly crude; the "subversive associationwith the aim of terrorism" is not proven by actions and concrete facts,but by writings.The leap in quality is evident; in the blitz, in fact, we read about thegovernment's attempt to dust off the old fascist laws on freedom of thepress (it is no coincidence that Bezmotivny was defined, no one knowswhy, as a clandestine newspaper), a fact which is part of the dailyfascist, revisionist and denialist utterances which the members of thegovernment and the majority show off, but also in the evictions, in thepolice interventions, in the daily criminalization practices that wewitness.At the time of writing, we are awaiting the decisions of the judgesregarding the appeal of the defenders of the defendants who have askedto cancel all precautionary measures.https://www.sicilialibertaria.it/_________________________________________A - I N F O S N E W S S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.ca
