The agglomeration of Caen includes the town of Ouistreham, whose port
provides the maritime link with the port of Portsmouth in England. It is
for this reason that a Sudanese community, the Zaghawas, from Darfur,
arrived in 2017, with the aim of crossing the Channel. They fled their
countries where rape, looting and murder have continued for many years.
The pseudo Sudanese president, in power from 1989 to 2019, Omar el
Bechir, is indicted by the International Criminal Court for genocide,
crimes against humanity and war crimes in the context of the Darfur War.

But since 2019, it is the military who have regained power following
several coups d'état (2019 and 2021) and put an end to the revolts
against the high cost of living that began in 2018, leaving the
population with nothing but wars, conflicts and poverty. extreme. This
is why young Sudanese are trying as best they can for a new life in Europe.

Today, nearly 80 exiles are suffering from the racist and xenophobic
policies of the State and its local representatives such as the
Prefecture, the En Marche deputy Christophe Blanchet, the Regional
President Hervé Morin (LR) and above all the LR mayor of Ouistreham
Romain Bail, recently condemned by the Council of State for "clear
attack on human dignity" linked to the lack of access to water...

Faced with this, several individuals, collectives (AG of struggles
against all expulsions), associations (Attac, citizens in struggle) and
organizations (UCL), decided to organize themselves by creating the
Exiled Solidarity Coordination 14. It was in the face of the lack of
reaction from the local committee of the "anti-racism and solidarity"
campaign for the International Migrants Day of December 18, 2022, that
it saw the light of day, on a self-imposed basis. organization. This
coordination aims to organize concrete solidarity with all exiles and to
fight against Darmanin's umpteenth "asylum and immigration" law.

Direct action and concrete solidarity
Tracts, construction of huts, collection of foodstuffs, conferences,
screenings and organization of demonstrations are our main activities,
while being part of broader unitary actions during national campaigns
such as United Against Disposable Immigration for example. At the start
of the school year, and in the face of the social emergency, our
priority action will be towards collecting food, but also improving
living conditions in the camp by building cabins.

For us libertarian communists, this work is essential, especially since
the war has been ravaging Sudan for years and Sudanese anarchists need
international solidarity!
