IN AN EMPTY ASSEMBLY, APEOC APPROVES CHARGE OF ATTORNEYS' FEES TO ITS
MEMBERS.
In an empty assembly, with less than 100 members, APEOC/CTB approved the
collection of attorney fees from members. The measure aims to capture a
percentage of FUNDEF's court orders, funds that some of the members have
already started receiving and of which there are still some installments
to be paid.

Despite being emptied, the APEOC/CTB management worked to further empty
the space with a broad exhibition carried out by the management, and
only after opening it for debate. Entering the night, when many had
already left for the night shift, voting took place.

We understand that the category already pays for APEOC with union
contributions deducted from payroll, and that it is absurd to charge

The loss of colleague Sérgio Feitosa is a consequence of the lack of
democratic management
On November 14th, we lost our colleague Sergio Feitosa, who was
coordinator at EM Godofredo de Castro Filho, in the Vicente Pinzon
neighborhood. The colleague died after a series of cardiac arrests. The
week before, Sérginho, as he was affectionately called by his
co-workers, went for a heart exam when he felt ill. On Saturday, even
though he felt unwell, he opened the school and was working. Co-workers
warned him to take care of his health, but the inhumane working
conditions to which school managers are subjected do not allow him to
take care of his health, of his own life.

The Municipal Department of Education and the education districts bear
their share of responsibility for the death of their colleague, who was
too worn out with the constant urgent demands from the education
district, and we know that because the position of school coordinator is
a commissioned position, There is no possibility of not meeting these
demands "from above".

We need democracy in schools. Democratic management does not happen just
by the will of school management or by the good or bad relationship
between the management group and the teaching staff, students and staff
(secretary and support), parents and the community in general. We can
and do have managerial centers in several schools that communicate and
are open to criticism and problem solving. However, despite the
selection of managers, they find themselves tied to a greater or lesser
extent to the clientelism present in the municipal administration and
are also victims of moral harassment present in the SME. One of the
reasons for this to occur is the lack of direct elections for school
management.

Democratic management only occurs when managers are subjected to popular
evaluation through direct elections that involve the school community,
where the projects of each candidate for that school are presented. This
is good for the community as each candidate will present their
management and school projects for the period of their mandate. Thus,
the community will choose the project that it considers best and most
viable. This is different from what happens today where the manager is
sent to the school according to the SME's internal selection.

We must defend, as a democratic flag, direct election for school
management, so that the community can choose the best project for the
school and the community. We want to choose our managers!
