Since October 7, 2023, more than a thousand anti-Semitic acts have been
recorded in France. These acts, whether they involve material damage,insults, threats or even attacks, are intolerable and unjustifiable.However, we must not give in to opportunistic and dangerous usurpationattempts by the French far-right or its government supporters. ---- Thedemonstration against anti-Semitism, launched by the ruling party andjoined by the far-right on Sunday, November 12, represented an attemptat opportunistic and dangerous usurpation of anti-racism. We refuse toallow our struggle to serve to rehabilitate the French far right and werefuse to rank victims of discrimination among themselves.Anti-Semitism is a racism with Christian roots, widespread well beyondthe cliché of hatred confined to working-class and immigrantneighborhoods. Recent acts do not appear out of nowhere, conspiratorialspeeches have exploded in recent years with the Covid-19 pandemic andhave been mocked without being taken seriously in their anti-Semiticrepresentations.These discourses, whether they come from the traditional far right orthe media-political sphere embodied by Dieudonné and Soral, present Jewsas an "organized community" acting in finance and secrecy to control theworld. . During the indignation caused by the massacres in Gaza, thisconspiracy was also reactivated for opportunism by fascist religiouscurrents. Wherever these representations come from, we must not allowthese forgers to claim to be allies of the Palestinian cause.Anti-Semitism is the enemy of the Palestinian causeAnti-Semitism must be fought tirelessly and without complacency in oursocial camp. Those who believe that approving, spreading or remainingsilent in the face of anti-Semitic words or acts would serve thePalestinian struggle are ultimately the objective allies of Zionism.Today, just like yesterday: the more anti-Semitism rises, the more ourJewish comrades feel isolated and discriminated against, the strongerthe temptation to rally around the ethno-nationalist and colonialistvision of Israel will be.Jews are assigned to unreservedly support a criminal and colonizingIsraeli policy against the Palestinian people, dangerous for all. Wereaffirm that anti-Zionism is a fight against the colonial and racistsystem which denies the rights of the Palestinian people, which does notaim to "throw Jews into the sea", but to defend a unique, democratic andsecular country for all its inhabitants.Anti-Semitism, Islamophobia...: fighting the entire racist systemThe fight against racism cannot be cut up. Choosing certain "good"victims over others is the antithesis of the anti-racist fight.Alongside anti-Semitic acts, no census of Islamophobic acts hasbenefited from wide media coverage. Yet these acts have multiplied: frominsults to people wearing a keffiyeh or a veil, to the attack on aTunisian national and to police intimidation over a broken kebab shop.Anti-racism must be a global fight against all discrimination. "Doublestandards" are poisonous in the fight against anti-Semitism and racism;Minoritized groups can only emancipate themselves together or lose together.For a popular, autonomous and anti-fascist anti-racismThe UCL did not participate in the demonstration imposed by thegovernment on Sunday, November 12: it was only a political operation ofinjunction to support Israel in the name of the fight againstanti-Semitism. An absurd scene to see Macronists demonstrating together,in the name of anti-racism, who are rehabilitating Pétain, with aminister like Darmanin from Action Française, alongside the revisionistsfrom Reconquête or the National Rally. We refuse to march againstanti-Semitic hatred alongside the purveyors of Islamophobic hatred,alongside a government passing xenophobic laws!In contrast to this enterprise of political recovery, the LibertarianCommunist Union will continue to invest and build frameworks to combatanti-Semitism.
