From October 3 to 27 (1), the people arrested on December 8, 2020 areon trial at the Paris Criminal Court for "criminal conspiracy to committerrorist acts". In this case set up by the DGSI (2), numerousinconsistencies were noted, but the judicial institution continues tofollow police fantasies. ---- On December 8, 2020, the DGSI and the RAIDarrested nine people in five departments (with searches of their homesand vehicles), then transferred them to the DGSI premises inLevallois-Perret under the custody regime. anti-terrorist view (up to 96hours). At the end of this police custody, two people were releasedwithout charge, the other seven indicted. Among those accused, five wereheld in pre-trial detention for varying lengths of time, several in veryharsh conditions (3) and for the main accused in solitary confinementfor more than a year (4).The case begins with Florian being placed under police surveillance uponhis return from Rojava, in January 2018. The preliminary investigation was opened on February 7,2020: Florian is suspected of wanting to set up a "violent" and"clandestine" group to "commit guerrilla actions and violent actionsagainst institutional targets". All this surveillance by telephonetapping prior to the investigation is attacked by lawyers and is thesubject of an appeal before the National Commission for the Control ofIntelligence Techniques, transmitted for examination to the Council ofState.The summary report of the preliminary investigation, in April 2020,details the meetings and activities of certain people duringconfinement, but it recognizes that at this stage there is neither groupnor "any project of violent action. (...) The judicial interceptions(...) did not make it possible to reveal elements likely to characterizethe alleged facts." Despite this, on April 20, the PNAT opened ajudicial investigation against Florian, and, the same day, a judge offreedoms and detention authorized the establishment, official andjudicial this time, of DGSI surveillance means. Subsequent wiretaps(telephone, but also via sound system of premises and vehicles) revealnothing, apart from a plan for Florian to leave abroad. It isundoubtedly this project which decided the PNAT and the investigatingjudge to arrest eleven (6) people involved.During the searches, investigators seized hunting or shooting weaponsheld with permits, but also replicas of airsoft weapons (7). They alsoseized substances that could be used in the composition of explosives,but which were also explosives. common and over-the-counter products(acetone, hydrogen peroxide, hydrochloric acid, fertilizer, etc.); andvarious objects (pans, spatulas, electric wires, tools, etc.) - ormagazines and books (by Blanqui, Kropotkin, etc.) clearly showing therevolutionary character of the so-called (8) group!Despite the inconsistency of the facts, seven people are thereforebrought before the criminal court (9) of Paris. They are accused ofassociating with criminals with terrorist aims, and, for some, refusingto communicate the code allowing them to unlock their phone.Fortunately, since their arrest and the media frenzy (10) about this new"ultra-left" terrorist group, the support committees have been able toreveal the reality of the alleged facts and this has led to articlescriticizing the investigation even in the moderate press (11).On October 3, 2023, there were around 150 people, coming from differentregions in support of the accused, in front of the court in a veryfriendly atmosphere (statements, songs) which was appreciated by theaccused. The cops initially prohibit displaying banners, but it ispossible in the afternoon. To enter the court, you must undergo a visualsearch outside, a scan of bags and metal objects at the entrance gates,a new visual examination and a manual scan at the doors of the room(12)... And this circus is repeated three times, each time the sessionis suspended or the room is left.In this room, the two benches reserved for the press are not full - youneed authorization from the PNAT to sit on them, which clearly seems anabuse. In addition, the prosecution is represented by two prosecutors (aman and a woman), a feature undoubtedly due to alleged terrorism. From the start, the president of the court promised to evacuate anydisruptors (13) - she suspected certain coughs of being voluntarydisturbances. All requests from lawyers to adjourn the trial (pendingthe response from the Council of State on the legality of wiretappingoutside the judicial framework) or to have the anonymous DGSIinvestigators summoned to testify are swept aside or adjourned afterobviously unfavorable opinions of the PNAT.This first day is also that of interrogations of the identity and socialsituation of the people involved, then of a reminder of the facts by thepresident.
