Towards a day of fight against HIV andAIDS that can be an opportunity for counter-information, criticism andmobilization for a more accessible, aware healthcare that puts marginalsubjectivities at the centre! ---- Smarza Pride ---- The call for thedemonstration in Piazza Unità on December 1st: ---- CARE AND HEALTH:EVERYONE'S MATTER3 ---- December 1st, international day to fight AIDSand to HIV, we return to the streets to denounce the stigma,obscurantism and misinformation that accompany the dominant narrative,to demand free and universal care, starting from our subjectivities,from our bodies, needs, desires.We return to the streets to remember that the HIV virus continues tospread, causing the chronic medicalisation of entire sections of thepopulation, and that AIDS is the cause of death - every year - forhundreds of thousands of people in the world, for whom therapies stillremain inaccessible today.We return to the streets to reiterate that we are all HIV-infected andthat undetectable means non-transmissible, contrasting silence andignorance with the need to provide counter-information on the currentstate of the pandemic and the means at our disposal to combat it.We do all this in the awareness that the problem does not just concernthe management of the HIV pandemic, but that it reflects the disastrousstate of public health as a whole.We demand access to free treatment, with the awareness that the sameinstitutions that should guarantee it apply a stigmatizing, classist andexclusionary health model. The entrepreneurial logic of healthcarecompanies, which have learned nothing from the Covid-19 pandemic,continues to dismantle public services in which prevention and sexualeducation should be carried out, also providing information on sexuallytransmitted diseases.In Trieste, in fact, there is a plan to halve the number of familycounseling centres, territorial services which, among their many tasks,should deal with sexual education.
