As Araiza Kokinisexplains, the FAU organized students and workers to directly confrontinternational and domestic capitalists, far-Right violence, and staterepression amidst rising IMF-mandated austerity and declining livingstandards during the 1960s and 1970s. Pushed underground and into exileby governmental ban and a decade of US-backed military dictatorship, theorganization has spread its model for revolutionary change around theworld since it resurfaced in the mid-1980s.The FAU's innovative engagement with, disciplined commitment to, andsteadfast confidence in everyday people's capacities to control theirshop floors, classrooms, neighborhoods, and lives offers importantlessons for revolutionaries today.Due to some technical issues during the event, the following combinesportions of live audio with recreations of the author's talk. We hopeyou enjoy the conversation!Produced and edited by Kenny Donovan.https://blackrosefed.org/audio-anarchist-popular-power-launch/_________________________________________A - I N F O S N E W S S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.ca
