The Lyon unitary collective "Close the fascist premises", of which the
Lyon UCL group is a part, organized an anti-fascist weekend on November11 and 12. On the program: a demonstration in the city center andanti-fascist social forums in Villeurbanne. ---- The demonstration, despite a date not conducive to a large mobilization, brought togethernearly 3,000 people on a route imposed by the Prefecture refusingpassage on the quays of the Saône on the Old Lyon side. It is on thisside that the premises and sports hall of the La Traboule and Agogéidentity groups are located, managed by the small group Les Remparts(formerly Génération Identitaire).Successful meetingsThanks to the comrades who came from the Region and in particular fromGrenoble, the UCL procession looked great and was the most extensivepolitical organization procession! The next day, anti-fascist socialforums were organized during the day (10 a.m.-7 p.m.) with workshops:the foundations of far-right ideologies, far-right in the world of work, the social drivers of the RN vote, the extreme -right against women, what is the far right in power, ecology and the double trap of the farright, propaganda tools, immigration laws... and a conference to closethe day in the presence of Edwy Plenel from Mediapart.a local map of the extreme rightIt was a great success since several hundred people came during the day.At the end of the conference, a map with the location of two newpremises was presented: that of Action Française and the room used byLyon Populaire for its training. It was also an opportunity for ourgroup to host a press table at our bookstore La Plume Noire! Few citiesin France can offer such events in a united manner and the success ofthis weekend is a real springboard for the future.Stop far-right violenceThe objective for us in this type of initiative always remains the same:"understand to better fight against the extreme right". And we saw thatthe weekend was unfortunately not organized for nothing becausefollowing the demonstration, a group of 30 to 50 masked and armedfascists attacked a conference on Palestine in Old Lyon. Later in theevening, four students were attacked by fascists at Traboule. New proofof the almost total impunity of small fascist and neo-Nazi groups inLyon! Faced with this new cycle of violence, UCL will continue:to invest in the unitary collective to demand the definitive closure offascist premises;to propose educational awareness actions on these small groups;to develop self-defense in all of our activist practices;to organize increasingly massive popular mobilizations to counter hatespeech;to broaden the anti-fascist struggle to other struggles (feminism,anti-racism, environmentalism).Djou (UCL Lyon)https://www.unioncommunistelibertaire.org/?Mobilisation-unitaire-a-Lyon-De-la-necessite-de-combattre-l-extreme-droite_________________________________________A - I N F O S N E W S S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.caSPREAD THE INFORMATION
