at the F. Besta Aeronautical Commercial Institute, closely linked to the
Italian military world, NATO and the USA. It is no coincidence that on
22 and 23 November a new "Guided tour" involved two fifth classes of
this institute, conducted at the Maristaeli Navy helicopter base in
Catania, according to a consolidated style that saw the children
transported several times in Sigonella, and also at the fighter-bomber
factory in Cameri (Novara).

By now the militaristic plague is spreading into every corner of our
society; from 20 to 22 December, the Opp Festival Energie U18, a youth
event of shows, performances, theatre, dance and sport will be held in
Mazzarino, organized by the Farm Cultural Park; Among others, the
American Consulate in Naples and the NAS of Sigonella will also be
present. A delegation from the American embassy went to Ragusa to visit

And still on the subject of visits, a group of representatives of
Sigonella's US Intelligence (the famous NCIS) made a visit on November
22nd to the police commissioner of Caltanissetta Agnello, delivering

station "for the very high performances demonstrated in support of the
Naval Air Base (U.S.N.A.S.) and the personnel of the Naval Criminal
Investigative Service (NCIS) of Sigonella. Surely we NO MUOS activists
know what this "very high performance" consisted of.

To return to another example of American interference in schools, we
would like to point out that on 21 November the "Don Bosco" State
Comprehensive Institute of Santa Maria di Licodia (CT) promoted the
"Tree Festival 2023-24", during the where 5 olive trees were planted
before an environmental education conference. The previous week, US
soldiers and young migrants had been involved in the "environmental
enhancement and social cooperation" project, launched by the Institute
in collaboration with a group of "volunteers" from the US. Air Force of
NAS Sigonella belonging, according to what Antonio Mazzeo reports, to
the 7th Reconnaissance Squadron remotely piloted aircraft flight group.

Sigonella base; promoted by the Arab community of Catania and Palermo,
it saw the support of the NO MUOS movement and numerous social and
political realities. A signal of denunciation of the role of the
powerful American base in the war in Gaza and in the genocide of the
Palestinian people.

On the same day the Antimilitarist Assembly marched in Turin against the
imminent opening of the military aerospace fair; a colorful and
combative procession, predominantly an expression of the anarchist and
anti-militarist area that recognizes itself in the Assembly, but with
trade union and party delegations present.

In Val Susa, two important NO TAV garrisons were seized and closed; this
is the statement from the NO MUOS Movement: On November 21st, early in
the morning, the garrisons of San Didero and the mills in Val Clarea
were seized by the investigating judge of the Court of Turin. Although
seized - obviously not by bulldozers - in Val Clarea the construction
vehicles have made a clean sweep of the history and vegetation of the
garrison, with the ever-increasing risk of the construction site's
expansion, barbed wire and speculation. That same evening, a determined
crowd reopened the San Didero garrison! From the NO MUOS movement we are
complicit and in solidarity with the NO TAV comrades* and comrades who
are currently resisting yet another attack against what is the most
direct and participatory form of democracy and popular
self-determination in Val di Susa and who, in addition to resisting
judicial and physical repression gives a great example of how we can
gain awareness towards the recovery of territories and natural spaces
from which people are daily taken away - to fuel a terrifying crescendo
of militarization and consolidate an increasingly belligerent national
structure. Nature does not belong to us, we are the ones who are part of it.

NO TO THE MILITARIZATION OF TERRITORIES AND WARS! NO TO MOOS AND NO TO
TAV! We are nature rebelling!

On December 16th at 4 pm, in the premises of the municipal library of
Niscemi, the NO MUOS Movement organizes a conference on the theme of the
war in Ukraine and Palestine seen from the Sicilian angle; after an
intervention by Antonio Mazzeo, Claudio Tramaglini will speak, who was
in the West Bank as part of a project to support the olive harvest when
the conflict broke out in Gaza, and will give a direct testimony on what
he saw and heard in first person. During the day he will resume
administering the questionnaire on the condition of women in Niscemi.
