Will you help me save the lives of LGBT+ people in Iraq?
My name is Francois Zankih and I'm the Executive Director of the Guardians of Equality Movement (GEM), a Syrian LGBT+ organization that strives to protect our community in Syria and neighboring countries.
The Parliament is on the verge of approving a bill that equates same-sex relations with “sexual perversion” and punishes same-sex couples with the death penalty, which has fueled a series of hate-motivated murders and violations stalking the LGBT+ community in Iraq.
Semsem, a young trans woman, was the most recent victim: she was brutally stabbed to death in the streets of Diwaniyah. Before then, Hadi, a member of my own team, was beaten up with a water hose and left with marks in his eye, back, and ear.
As the Parliament pushes for this severe legislation, hate speeches and incitement against the LGBT+ community rise. Semsem and Hadi weren't the first and will not be the last if we don't take immediate action.
Iraqi LGBT+ citizens have been reaching out to our team to ask for protection and we need your help to answer.
A simple donation from you will cover legal support, security needs, and the relocation of those at the greatest risk. Donate now and save the life of an LGBT+ person in Iraq!

Luc, last year we fundraised to help LGBT+ victims of the earthquake in Syria.
Donations from people like yourself saved lives like Sami's:
"At a time when I and my family were homeless, GEM contacted me to ask about my needs. A tent was provided for me urgently and quickly, along with a sum of money. I felt at that time that my life was important to someone."
Thanks for going All Out,
