Information and exchange event to support Sudanese anarchists ----
Colonial rule, military dictatorships, coups - like many other African
countries, Sudan has a long history of exploitation and oppression. But
in 2018, the people of Sudan started a new chapter on their own. They
formed an impressive resistance movement that rose up against the old
military regime. Many people pinned their hopes on a revolution from
below. Grassroots movements and neighborhood initiatives should be role
models for a solidarity-based and democratically organized Sudanese
society. Then came the year 2023 and with it war. Since then, the
country's progressive and revolutionary forces have been caught between
two reactionary military factions. The humanitarian catastrophe
continues to worsen day by day.
Nevertheless, Sudan is hardly talked about in politics, the media and
society. We want to change that. That's why we invite you to an
information event. With a lecture we look at the historical, political
and economic background of current events. We also provide an insight
into the work of the revolutionary resistance movement.
The series of events takes place as part of the solidarity campaign for
Sudanese anarchists. Like countless other people, they are forced to
flee Sudan. To support them, we are organizing a series of lectures with
comrades and friends that will take place on April 19th. in Trier (Peace
and Environmental Center), on April 20th. in Kaiserslautern (Eselsohr)
and on April 26th in Koblenz (project shop) at 6:00 p.m.
