increased their assets over the past two years at the expense of the

price of electricity or gas and withdraw from the contract before its
end will face large fines. The House of Representatives approved on
Wednesday that the supplier will be able to demand up to 40 percent of
the amount they would have paid during the duration of the contract
until its end.

For example, when terminating the contract for a three-year fixation
right after the first year, it would mean paying two-fifths of the
remaining payments for two years for a household with normal electricity
consumption. With an annual payment of around 25,000 crowns, the fine
could reach around 20,000 crowns.

Fines for early withdrawal from the contract are still paid by
customers, but so far the suppliers themselves have set them in the
contracts, the Energy Act has not yet regulated them.

According to spokesman Michal Kebort, the Energy Regulatory Office
proposed a lower sanction, at a level of around twenty percent.
Government politicians thought this was not enough, so they proposed and
approved 40%. The amendment to the Energy Act, which sets the maximum
fines, still needs to be discussed by the Senate and signed by President
Petr Pavel. It should enter into force next year.

All this will go their way until the working majority wakes up from its
slumber, we start to collectively defend and organize - as anarchists we
have been calling for years to advance our interests through direct
action instead of the lengthy and ineffective parliamentary route and to
create a militant movement of workers from below without leaders and
party affiliation.
