water we drink for the benefit of a handful of oligarchs.

Ángeles Vázquez, the Minister for Environmental Exploitation, shielded
her employers with the excuse of the law, arguing that the paperwork
necessary for the ecocide was in perfect order and that the Government -
clearly representing the popular will - should support Altri, given that
"if there is a project, that project must be processed. And that is what
the Xunta is doing." It should be noted that the Xunta, far from acting
as a perfect impartial referee, covers 25% of Altri's investment using
public funds, and an additional 50% based on debt, making clear exactly
what interests they are defending.
