to the distraction and dispersion of Assad's main allies. On the one
hand, Iran and Hezbollah are focused on the Israeli offensive in Lebanon
and Gaza, and on the other, Russia, which has provided military support
to the regime on numerous occasions, is deeply involved in the war in
Ukraine.

While Assad's troops were hastily withdrawing in the face of the advance
of religious fundamentalists, the Syrian Democratic Forces also
advanced, seeking to occupy strategic positions in the void left by the
regime. Thus, another battlefront is also forming, with the SDF fighting
the government forces.

We are aware that the Rojava Revolution, like all revolutions, has its
own internal contradictions, but we cannot deny the relevance of its
great achievements: the political democratization of society, the
emancipation of women and the harmonious coexistence of different ethnic
groups. In this scenario, we, from the Libertarian Socialist
Organization, send all our solidarity to the Democratic Forces of Syria,
to the Kurdish people and to the confederalist experience in the region,
with the deep hope that they may deepen their own liberation.
