We publish a regular report on our activities. Download, print and
distribute! ---- The Ostrava Anarchist Federation (OAF) was establishedin autumn 2016 on the initiative of North Moravian anarchists (mainly
from Ostrava, Frýdek-Místek, Ceský Teshín and Orlová). The collective
mainly supports regional anarchist activities, but we also deal with the
movement's current programmatic crisis, criticize domestic and world
events and, of course, reject nationalism, which has gripped some
anarchists in the Czech Republic. ---- Regional activities ---- Food not
bombs collectives still regularly cook in the region, namely in Ostrava
and Frýdek-Místek. Their real help to the victims of the economic
injustice of capitalism is, of course, complemented by systemic
criticism, in the spring FNB activists, for example expressed solidarity
with the victims of the Israeli genocide in Gaza.
Every year, OAF supports the Prajd collective and the queer community in
general, as well as the Limits are Us movement, which brought its
activities to Ostrava again last year in the form of a climate drive.
This year, anarchists also helped clean up the consequences of floods in
villages near Krnov.
Antimilitarism
The most anticipated event of last year was undoubtedly the Action Week
Against Wars, under which we were signed as a supporting organization.
Unfortunately, it ended up being a fiasco for various reasons. On the
other hand, the music festival Make music, not war, which was supported
by the local group of the Czechoslovak Anarchist Association (CAS), was
successful.
As part of antimilitarism, we also dealt with theory. We translated a
text from the British ACG and reprinted a statement by the
Slovene-Croatian FAO, published a reflection on anarchist reformism in
connection with the war. We also published videos of Ukrainian
conscripts resisting draft boards.
Comments
In the opinion section, we glossed over events on the domestic scene in
particular. We were critical of the organization of the Action Week,
which failed mainly because of the confusion of the organizing team, not
because of external sabotage. We voted for the assassination of the
Slovak prime minister, we commented on the end of the Pirates in the
coalition government, against whom we had already warned in the past. We
reviewed two issues of Casák, published by CAS, while acknowledging the
gradual improvement in the level of articles and graphics.
History
In the history section, we remembered the anniversary of the Carnation
Revolution in Portugal, which had a strong anarchist background. We have
reprinted Lukásh Borl's article, in which he reflects on the period of
political persecution within the framework of Operation Fénix.
