New Emergencies: Help us save cats from pain and abandonment |
|
|
In the shadow of Agadir Oufella, Morocco, a heartbreaking scene unfolded. While treating stray cats suffering from mange, we discovered a cat lying motionless, bleeding from her womb. Her life was slipping away—her unborn kittens already lost. We didn’t hesitate. We rushed her to the vet, where she underwent an emergency surgery that saved her life.
Today, she is safe at You Can Save Me Shelter, slowly regaining her strength. But her journey to survival came at a cost—her medical bill alone was €120. She is just one of countless cats we fight to save, but we cannot do it alone. We are reaching out to you, our compassionate supporters, because every small contribution makes a life-saving difference. |

Every Day is a Fight for Life |
|
Euthanasia is often seen as a final act of mercy when suffering becomes unbearable and there is no hope of recovery. But for this cat, and so many like him, euthanasia is not the answer. His condition is painful, but it is not hopeless. With immediate medical intervention, his tumors can be treated, his pain can be managed, and his life can be saved. To end his life now would be to deny him the possibility of experiencing love, warmth, and safety—things every living being deserves. It would mean robbing him of the chance to recover, to feel a gentle hand, and to know that his life matters. |
|
|
At You Can Save Me Shelter, we believe every life is worth fighting for. These cats have endured enough pain and abandonment. Ending their lives because care is costly or challenging is not mercy—it is surrender. True compassion means standing with them, fighting for their chance to heal, and doing everything possible to give them life, not take it away. But we cannot do it alone. Only with your support can we provide the urgent surgeries, medications, and aftercare these cats need. Only then can we say, with honesty and love, that we gave them every chance to live. Please, help us choose life. Help us choose hope. |

The Harsh Reality for Morocco’s Cats |
|
Morocco’s streets are harsh and unforgiving. Each day brings new emergencies: cats hit by cars, left with broken bones and painful infections; kittens abandoned and too weak to survive; cats suffering from severe mange, their skin raw and their eyes pleading for help. Each life is a story of suffering—but also of hope, if only we can reach them in time.
But hope alone isn’t enough. Rescues like these bring mounting veterinary bills, medical supplies, food, and shelter costs. Every saved life is a victory, but it comes with financial challenges that we cannot shoulder alone. |

Your kindness is already making a difference. Recently, we completed a sterilization campaign that spayed 47 cats, preventing the birth of at least 470 kittens in one year and an estimated 2,350 kittens over five years. This means thousands of lives spared from suffering on the streets, a victory we achieved thanks to compassionate supporters like you.
If you would like to see the impact of this campaign, we invite you to view our tracking map here: Sterilization Impact Map.
Sterilization is vital. It prevents countless cases of abandonment, starvation, and disease. But beyond preventing suffering, it gives each cat a better chance at a healthier, safer life. |

Stories of Hope: Before and After |
|
One of the most powerful moments we experience is when we randomly encounter a cat we once rescued. Like the frail, sick cat we saved in 2022—now healthy, strong, and living his life in peace. Seeing him thrive, knowing we gave him a second chance, fills us with pride. These are the moments that remind us why we fight so hard for every life.
We’ve witnessed incredible transformations. Cats once on the brink of death—sick, weak, and hopeless—are now healthy and happy, thanks to love, care, and medical intervention. Each recovery is a testament to the power of compassion. Every life deserves a second chance, and together, we can make that happen.
But this work isn’t over. Every day, more cats arrive at our shelter—broken, terrified, and in desperate need of help. They, too, deserve the chance to live, to be loved, and to heal. |

When we found that bleeding cat lying motionless, it wasn’t just her injuries that broke our hearts—it was the silent plea in her eyes. Her unborn kittens were already lost, and her frail body was slipping away. But we couldn’t look away. We rushed her to the vet for emergency surgery, determined to give her the second chance she deserved. Today, she is safe, slowly regaining strength, and finding hope. But her story could have ended differently—like so many others who never get that chance.
The harsh reality is that every rescue comes with a cost—vet bills, medications, shelter, food. Each life we save adds to an overwhelming financial burden, and every day we face the impossible decision of who we can help and who we might have to turn away. We refuse to let these innocent lives suffer, but we cannot do it alone.
It is only through the compassion and generosity of people like you that hope becomes possible. |
