15 years ago, on March 10, 2010, the anarchist comrade Lambros Fountas
fell fighting in Daphne by bullets from uniformed state assassins,
during a preparatory action for the implementation of an action by the
Revolutionary Struggle organization. As the members of the Revolutionary
Struggle have announced, this action concerned institutions related to
the imposition of the memoranda and was part of the campaign of attacks
that the organization was carrying out against loan agreements and the
subordination to the institutions of fiscal stewardship, against the
destructive policy of transferring the cost of the capitalist crisis
from those who created it, to the great social majority.
Lambros Fountas was murdered fighting so that the rapid impoverishment
that would follow would not pass without resistance and continues to
this day to dismantle centuries of conquest and impoverish the living
conditions of the working class and the poor popular strata. So that the
crisis of the system would become an opportunity for revolution and
overthrow, so that the causes that give rise to crises would cease to
exist, namely the capitalist mode of production itself, the
contradiction between the collective character of production and the
individual enjoyment of its results. So that the state would cease to
exist as a mechanism of class domination and social enslavement, so that
the new society of libertarian communism, of anarchy, would be built.
The blood of Lambros Fountas watered the struggles of an entire
historical period. The name of Lambros Fountas forever marked the
history of class and revolutionary struggle, it became a banner of the
anarchist struggle and the revolutionary perspective. It became a memory
and a duty and is passed on today to the new generations of fighters and
revolutionaries who are fighting again in the same squares and on the
same streets where 15 years ago the struggles against the memoranda gave
birth to fighting consciousnesses but failed to give birth to a
revolutionary movement of overthrow that was necessary to build and
remains a constant challenge and necessity today.
Lambros Fountas lives in the struggle for the Social Revolution. He
lives in the small and large struggles of today, such as in the long
battles of February 28 and the shouts of "long live the revolution" at
the barricades on Panepistimiou outside the Bank of Greece, where his
organization carried out one of its most important political strikes in
2014, dedicating it to his memory, the day when the first "exit to the
markets" was projected as the "beginning of an exit from the crisis". An
"exit" that never came. An exit that can only come revolutionaryly, with
the collective "exit" from the state and capitalism, with the
revolutionary reorganization of society.
And now and forever, Lambros Fountas PRESENT
