repression, identity politics, nationalisms are the hallmarks of a worldorder that, to save itself, sinks us all. ---- The Trump cyclone in the
States is just the latest powerful sign of a global right-wing wind in a
horizon of permanent war. ---- To populations frightened by the
devastating effects of the unstoppable affirmation of capitalist logic,
right-wing parties of every latitude offer the hope that someone may be
safe. Everywhere, leaders are asserting themselves that identify the
freedom of women and non-conforming identities as an enemy. Everywhere,
street protests are repressed, essential services are denied,
militaristic and patriotic propaganda paints a picture of warlike normality.
The affirmation of heavily authoritarian dynamics on a global scale
marks an era where those who govern and those who exploit no longer
intend to bow to any social mediation.
It would be banal to reduce everything to fascism, however, even if the
black tide draws ample inspiration and the tools necessary for its
narrative from that world and its history.
Starting from what is happening in the United States and from the
dynamics that have been triggered on the international level, we will
try to think about the enormous accelerations underway and the prospects
of political and social opposition movements. In the States but not only.
