Kyiv was hit hard just hours after the US negotiators left.
Hours before the ceasefire supposedly expired (given the ambiguous terms), jet-powered drones were already flying over the city. Come midnight, and all hell broke loose as Kyiv was pounded by drones and ballistic missiles, with a passenger train between Sumy and Kyiv also hit. By morning, the capital was covered by a thick cloud of black smoke – but the attack didn’t stop there, striking a TV station while it was on air.
Still, there are little updates on the US-mediated talks, save for more talks of a trilateral meeting, with Zelensky naming a potential meeting with Trump in two weeks and possible venues for the trilat, and Russia saying it expects more talks to resume – but again, no word on how the talks are supposed to end the war.
And with Russian reservists now barred from leaving, more signs suggest further escalation is underway despite Zelensky’s oddly optimistic remarks, with the UK also sending more Patriots to Kyiv as the country braces for a bad, bad winter.
