A few days ago the Minister of Labor and Second Vice President signed a new Labor
Reform with Employers and Unions. The criticism of said reform has been made byvarious actors and I will not insist. What I do want to make clear is that whenpeople spoke this year and in the electoral promises to "repeal the 2012 laborreform," it was known that it was a scam, since we have had Labor Reforms sincethe signing of the first social pact: that of the Moncloa in 1978. And alwaysthose reforms, welcomed by their signatories, have consisted of: providingfacilities for dismissal "to create employment"; subsidize quotas to employers"so that they pay less and create jobs"; decrease social benefits forunemployment, "because there will be more employment"; subsidize the signatoryorganizations "to make the unions work." Result:After twenty labor reforms, Spainis a country of the unemployed and the precarious.Total, instead of "repealing", they have brought a new "labor reform." They saythat some harmful little thing has been eliminated ... Let's see, is that many ofthese measures were approved by the PP Government in some brainstorming afterhaving drunk several strong drinks and some cocaine while they stained a Goyatapestry with sperm, for sure. Going back on a couple of things or three does notmean that thanks to the signing of the unions and a Social Democratic minister, the employers have been legitimized and given away, for example, the eliminationof processing salaries. And thanks to the minister and the unions, it islegitimized that the employer can continue hiring in a precarious manner, andlaying off piecework through various subterfuges, since all the previous reformsand the legal fringes of this remain standing.Anyway. On the other side, there are the workers of, for example, Metal. Let'sreconsider. In the seventies and eighties, the shipyard staff could be around5,000 workers. Before the closure of the Seville Shipyard, the workforce was onehundred permanent workers. The rest had gone to the auxiliary industry, whichdied with the closure. I think I remember that some historical unionist of thosewho were negotiating these things until the last day was given the medal of work. The same case in Cádiz, where Navantia that had another 5,000 may now have 100permanent workers. The rest, thousands of workers..., in hundreds of auxiliaryindustries, with contracts that do not last six months. Many charging a pittance. And what does the government do?Send them riot gear and tanks. For a 2% salary increase. And that's in Metal. What in Hospitality ... With thousands of bars ...In other words, on the one hand we have the Government setting a table, atablecloth and a direct telephone line for the employers and highly organizedorganizations. And from the other to a lot of people with tremendous difficultiesto organize, because they are crushed by needs and repression. In short, is it not clear that governments legislate for the rich, that theirmain interest is to contain the activism of the people, either with fines andimprisonment, or by capturing them for charges in municipal or state politics?Stick and carrot, so that they can continue with their business. In short: having hope that governments will change the world, defend us andprotect us, when they have been creating a market for years and years thatbenefits banks and companies, is of a supine innocence. Waiting for otherelections is preparing for frustration. The path set by those who are pursuingother strategies goes through a series of very simple steps: you arerepresentative, join the union; analyze your environment; determine the problems;look for resources, human, material, monetary, and make a plan with yourcolleagues; establish independent alliances (politicians, no matter how nice theymay seem to you, are powerless); call assemblies and talk to people; modify theplan based on what has been achieved; get down to business with a goal... Ah. Andhave a good lawyer, or a few. And life, your life, and that of yourenvironment,it will start to be more satisfying.Acratosaurus Rex(Identified with the magnificent cover of @eljueves)https://www.cnt.es/noticias/reforma-laboral-2021-una-estafa-a-favor-de-la-patronal/https://sevilla.cnt.es/2022/01/hablando-claro-sobre-la-reforma/_________________________________________A - I N F O S N E W S S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.ca
