demonstrators gather regularly on Mondays at 6 p.m. on the Neumarkt for the
counter-rally registered by the "Cologne is solidary" alliance.
But also in districts like Porz or Nippes there is increasing resistance to the
right-wing populist hate campaigns with their ruthless egotism of the middle
class. In order to provide information about alternative measures in the sense of
a low incidence strategy in the Corona crisis during these protests, we are
distributing the newspaper of the "Zero Covid" campaign there. As grassroots
unionists, we demand, for example, an upgrade in care work, the preservation of
hospitals, a worldwide release of vaccine patents and adequate housing for the
homeless and refugees. That's why we took part in the protest rally in
Cologne-Mülheim on January 29th, 2022, which was directed against the "lateral
thinking" demo of "Cologne is active" on Wiener Platz.

In view of the current mass infections caused by the Omicron variant, which the
government is increasing with its infection policy, and the looming long Covid
wave due to unforeseeable secondary diseases, we continue to demand that
consideration be given to a general strike in all areas of production and
services in order to reduce the risk of infection To finally reduce the workplace
(and in daily local transport) to zero: Shut down capitalism!
