More than a hundred years ago, on March 8, 1917, the workers of Saint Petersburg
(Russia) went on strike and demonstrated to demand bread and peace and thusinitiated a historic revolutionary movement. The March 8 fight for women's rightswas launched. Today as yesterday, the strike is a powerful tool. ---- Today, inmore than 50 countries, women participate in the international strike movement ofMarch 8, the dynamics of which were renewed in 2017 thanks, in particular, to theArgentinian feminists in struggle. They said to us then: "We, the women in theworld, are organizing ourselves in a show of strength and in a common cry: theInternational Women's Strike. We stop. We are on strike. We practice the world wewant to live in.»In this year 2022, our axes of struggle resonate with our news and our condition. We live in a patriarchal, capitalist, racist society in which the fascists seemto have the wind in their sails. To address all these topics, we offer you a series of 5 very short soundtracksthat will take us quietly until March 8, the international day of strike for allwomen.- How can we go on strike on March 8, prepare and participate in the mobilizations?- What is our relationship to domestic work?- What is our action as workers when we are mainly employees of so-calledfeminized sectors, discredited and underpaid sectors?- Why do those in power persist in sacrificing our right to abortion?- What analysis and what action should we have in the face of the reaction, theextreme right and the fascists?Video of the antipatriarchy, work, antifascism and antiracism commissions of UCL(antipatriarcat@communisteslibertaires.org) and of the audiovisual working group.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VGvtf5NOEcE&t=1shttps://www.unioncommunistelibertaire.org/?8-MARS-UCL-5-Fachos-hors-de-nos-vies_________________________________________A - I N F O S N E W S S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.ca
