Lecture tours have a certain tradition for us as a platform. In 2019 our
initiative started with an extensive tour that took us to most parts of Germanyand even as far as Switzerland. We didn't make it to Austria at the time becausethe corona pandemic thwarted our plans in spring 2020. ---- After we were able togive our anarcha-feminism lecture at least once last year at the invitation ofthe Slovenian students' club in Vienna, two comrades of our organization recentlyspent a whole week traveling in the Alpine republic. In four cities - Graz,Vienna, Salzburg and Innsbruck, they presented platformism and our organization.Because little is known about the anarchist movement in Austria within Germanyand because, in addition to lecture tours, the reports on it are a certaintradition of our organization, here is your little travel report:On June 28th we left Germany for Graz, the first lecture location. Thanks to thedelay, we only reached our stopover in Salzburg after a train journey of almosttwelve hours. The very next day we continued for a few hours past picturesquelandscapes until we finally reached Graz. There we were already welcomed byfriendly comrades. The lecture took place in an anarchist cafe, the "BlackCaterpillar", in front of about 20 listeners. Due to many exciting questions, thelecture lasted much longer than expected. After that there was a lot to talkabout. There were many good questions about our approach, a lot of agreement withour experiences, but also opposing opinions. This relaxed a long and intensediscussion. The evening ended successfully for us with a nocturnal walk through Graz. The next day we made our way to Vienna early. On the way there we again had atotally beautiful view and a bit of a holiday feeling came up in us. Arrived inVienna, we first discovered a bit of the surroundings. Towards evening we madeour way to the "Club of Slovenian Students" to give the next lecture. About 20people came again. During the discussion that followed, many questions wereasked, above all about our organizational structure and our previous experiences. We were particularly pleased that comrades from other groups were also present, with whom we could at least exchange ideas a little. The next day we parted ways. One of us made the long journey back to Germany, theother stayed one more day in Vienna and then headed to the next destination ofour trip: Salzburg. In the city known for Mozart and the sweet chocolate balls ofthe same name, our talk took place at the Sub, an anarchist punk bar. About 20 to25 people gathered to hear the lecture. After that there were a few questions, mainly about our understanding ofcommitment and awareness structures in the platform. An intensive discussionarose, which also gave us another impetus, e.g. to talk internally about termsand definitions in the context of attacks and the like. The last destination of our trip was Innsbruck. For its size of just 120,000inhabitants, the city has an impressive left-wing infrastructure. In addition tothe self-run Cafe Lotta, there is Il Corvo, a collectively run restaurant and pubin town. Our lecture took place in the latter. About 20 people came again. Therewas some interest in the discussion, particularly as to the internal structureand purpose of the federation. The networking factor in particular receivedpositive comments, while there were also those who were skeptical about theestablishment of an organization. All in all, we were very satisfied with our lecture tour. Despite the manageableanarchist movement in Austria, we were able to reach more than 80 people and drawattention to our approach in cities across the country and put it up fordiscussion. Now it will be a question of building concrete platformist structuresin Austria. If you are from Austria and want to work on it with us, please sendus an email to kontakt@dieplattform.org.Finally, we would like to thank everyone who came to the presentations andengaged in discussions with us. Of course also with all our kind-hearted hostsand especially with the comrades who organized our trip. That would not have beenpossible without you guys!https://www.dieplattform.org/2022/07/17/bericht-von-unserer-vortragstour-die-plattform-zu-gast-in-oesterreich/_________________________________________A - I N F O S N E W S S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.caSPREAD THE INFORMATION
