In the night from Tuesday to Wednesday (October 19, 2022), Dortmund police
officers killed a homeless man with a taser on Wittener Straße in the Dorstfelddistrict. It's another death they have on their conscience. Just a few weeks agothey shot the young refugee Mouhamed in Nordstadt. ---- It looks like this casewill end up back on the record with no consequences for the perpetrators inuniform, no justice for the people they killed. The police colleagues fromRecklinghausen took over the case, although they killed themselves this summer.Everyone can imagine what comes out of it. The murderers will be able to continuekilling with impunity.But we must not accept that. It cannot be that the police murder and forget theirvictims again and again. That's why we made our way to Dorstfeld today (October20, 2022). We put up posters on Wittener Strasse drawing attention to the policemurder and denouncing it. We also put up a banner not far from the scene of thecrime, making it clear that the further armament of the police must stop. Thetasers, which they introduced almost two years ago in the name of greatersecurity, are the tools they now use to kill.With a banner, we made it clear what the consequences of this act must be: disarmand disband the police!Instead of giving the police more and more high-tech weapons, this institutionshould be disarmed and dissolved. Because it serves only one purpose: maintainingthe existing conditions and violently disciplining all those who do not fit intothis system through their actions or even their mere existence. It is a constantdanger for black people, people of color, queers, the homeless, drug addicts orpeople in exceptional psychological situations.In order to bring justice to the victims and prevent more killings, we must builda strong movement against the police and their violence. And we have to startcreating structures that make a world without police possible. Let's buildnetworks of solidarity in the neighborhoods and let's learn to deal with ourproblems together. For a peaceful coexistence, you don't need the armed murdergangs of the state, but a different society.
