populist Progress Party; all these parties then find themselves, together with
the Swedish Democratic Party, in the European Parliament in the Group of
Conservatives and Reformists, with the Polish ultranationalists of the PiS, the
Spaniards of Vox and the Brothers of Italy: a real threat to the future of the
Union European. The myopia of the left and progressives, the subordination to US
politics, will not fail to produce further damage.

And now in Sweden?

Of course, having brought the country into NATO will not help to contain the
right turn even if for now the particular institutional mechanism of safeguarding
the Swedish parliamentary system which provides for the so-called negative
parliamentarism - the statsminister or candidate prime minister only goes home if
in a motion of
mistrust more than half of parliamentarians vote against it - it will allow an
extremely weak and unstable government.

This contributes to hypothesizing a minority government supported by the external
support of this or that group of parties from time to time and the unwillingness
of social democrats to compromise (at least for now) does not help. It is
singular but the precariousness and instability of right-wing governments seems
to be a common and characterizing factor in their advance.
Not so in Italy for now, where the right-wing coalition that won the elections
has a far dominant party compared to the coalition, but this could perhaps be the
winners' Achilles heel because it could induce Forza Italia to slip away, if and
to the extent that the majority will distance themselves from Europe.
