For many years, successive interior ministers have been escalating racism and
Islamophobia in their bills. Determined to continue its race for safe shallots,it is in the field of the "fight against immigration", a favorite subject of thefar right, that the ministry has chosen to go. ---- Thus, lately, a future billof "immigration law" is talked about, in anticipation of a submission to the voteby yet another Minister of the Interior who believes his original racism. By thislaw, it will be up to the courts to assess whether the words or behavior of aforeigner "agree" with the "principles of the republic". People manifesting a"heresy" in relation to these so-called "principles" will risk expulsion from theterritory.This measure, already introduced in the law "consolidating the principles of theRepublic" (known as the "separatism law") of August 24, 2021, had been deemedunconstitutional by the Constitutional Council which had censured this provision.The vagueness and imprecision of the formula "principles of the republic" wouldallow the authorities to apply this accusation to any voice critical or dissonantwith respect to the orientations of the State. To be convinced of this, itsuffices to see how the separatism law was used last September by the prefect ofVienne Jean-Marie Girier, with the support of Darmanin, to prevent civildisobedience workshops.This new law opens a new phase of attack targeting foreigners, this timetargeting foreigners in a regular situation and further weakening theirsituation. This bill would apply in particular to temporary one-year residencepermits, multi-year residence permits or ten-year residence permits, whether itis a first application, a renewal or a valid title.According to the entourage of the disaster Darmanin, this new law on immigrationboils down to "promoting removals and simplifying litigation", that is to say todeport more and reduce the means of appeal.The process now known has been applied meticulously by the Ministry of theInterior: leaving its list of profiles on file and following an "indefensible" totry to apply to him what the law will allow. Itremains arbitrary and blocks the movement of peoples for family visits, studiesor medical care and settles in a post-colonial relationship by making the peoplesof the south pay for political disagreements between countries.Fortress Europe has turned the Mediterranean into a large cemetery with more than3,000 people dead in 2021. In June 2022, around thirty migrants were killedfollowing the police intervention against 2,000 migrants at the gates of theMediterranean. Spanish enclave of Melilla. A situation that raises questions: do Darmanin andthe entire Macronist clan respect "the values of the Republic" by allying with aparty historically considered "non-republican"?
