Flourishly, The Ex-strikers of "The Conquest of Bread". ---- Dear comrades, ----Following major internal problems at "La Conquête" - where there was no longerany self-management, the manager exercising overwhelming power over the rest ofthe team - more no decision was taken jointly in the General Assembly, but takenunilaterally without consulting anyone, in a climate of moral harassment andviolence which saw the employees leave one after the other, completely disgustedat having to suffer all that when they were come to find there an enriching humanand political adventure. ---- We, the three strikers, have decided not to acceptany more, to resist and oppose this totally illegitimate totalitarian power. Thewars between the manager and other employees implicated in cases of harassmentand violence had also been going on for years, it was time for it to stop, it wastime to put an end to all this and move on finally something else.The strike lasted a month, it was tough. We were treated to blackmail, pressurefrom all sides, threats and insults. A former baker (involved in the cases ofviolence and moral harassment who had been pushed to leave) returned to work tobreak the strike, in short, it was not easy.Finally, the liquidation of the bakery was voted during a first GA, which meantthat the employees were the first to be designated for a possible takeover. Itwas therefore proposed to us to present a recovery plan if we so wished. We, onour side, had already been working on it for a while: a plan that began withsupervision and prevention measures so that we never set out again in these excesses.And at the last GA, we finally found ourselves to be the only employees topropose a recovery plan. Our proposal was accepted, the majority of cooperatorsdecided to trust us for this takeover. The employees implicated in the harassmentcases are now all gone.We have won the battle!!We are in deep questioning and we will conscientiously study all the errors andmalfunctions that may have led to these problems so that we never go back intothe same drifts again.The challenge is difficult, the economic situation is worrying (without beingcatastrophic either), but we are more than ever motivated and full of enthusiasmto take up this challenge, at the idea of being able to recreate realself-management in line with the values that are defended there at the base, in aworking environment that has finally become healthy and joyful again, to make abakery of which we can finally be proud.And all of this could never have been done without you, without this wave ofsupport, testimonies of your situations and your battles similar to ours andother sincere and warm encouragement.It was a battle of nerves where keeping hope and a strong mind was decisive, andwe would never have made it without you.A big thank you to Sud Solidaires and to all the collectives and comrades whosupported us before and during the strike, we experienced this great feeling ofsolidarity, of camaraderie that has kept us standing until today.Thank you to all those who participated in our pot, to all the people whoencouraged us with different actions and sent us words of hope when our forceswere getting weak. Thank you very much to all those who came to meet us andlistened to us directly to learn our story in person.We thank you very much for all your support!Long live the strike!
