this fight the national scale it deserves. A first national mobilization
was held on June 16, 17 and 18 in Maurrienne. ---- Thousands of people
from different regions of France and Italy converged on Friday, defying
the bans of the prefecture. A camp was hastily set up on land in La
Chapelle, 15 kilometers from a tunnel digging site. In
Villarodin-Bourget, the initial reception area, the prohibition zones
prevented any demonstration. La Chapelle offered itself in an emergency,
thus becoming the second No TAV municipality in the region.
On Saturday, more than 4,000 demonstrators walked along departmental
1006, quickly blocked by gendarmes and CRS, even though the prohibition
zone did not concern this part of the region. After an hour and a half
of waiting under the sun during which elected officials tried, in vain,
to negotiate an alternative route, the demonstrators had no other
alternative to exercise their right to demonstrate than a more direct
confrontation. The response was made without warning : tear gas
sometimes in tense shots, de-encircling and deafening grenades thrown
into the middle of the crowds. Around fifty people were injured in a
very short time, including several serious cases.

Whether faced with social or environmental movements, the state has only
one answer: false speech, criminalization and repression. A false story
put together by Darmanin, environmental activists become eco-terrorists.

Stories to scare children
In the Maurienne, a story aimed at instilling fear was running at full
speed in the local press. " The gendarmes even protected the exit of
schools in Modane today, as if the children were in danger of being
robbed," says a resident. Since the beginning of June, the
Anti-Terrorist Sub-Directorate has arrested around thirty activists,
involved with the Uprisings on various struggles. Unsurprisingly, the
dissolution of the Uprisings was pronounced on June 21.

By seeking to silence any protest, however massively supported, through
violence, the state no longer burdens itself with any illusion of
democracy. The convergence of struggles is seen even in repression. But
class solidarity will not stop in the face of this brutality of a
fearful government!

This event marks the end of a season, and the end of the Uprisings in
its current form. But what the government cannot dissolve is a unitary
and popular convergence that has not said its last word.
