In the cradle of monotheisms war rages; it is also a religious war, since this takes on a central role in the ongoing divisions andconflicts, even if it cannot hide the real and material interests thatfuel an interminable conflict which is now leading to the decimation ofthe Palestinian population, a real genocide carried out by the army ofthe State which claims to represent those who experienced the Shoah, armed by the West and always covered by international complicity. ----The three monotheisms have always been the true cradle of bloodyconflicts, and the only moments of peace are those following violentmilitary pacifications. Within individual religions, then, other violentdivisions have caused wars and conflicts, such as between Shiites andSunnis in the Muslim world; but also within Israel, with the variousfundamentalist sects that push towards the elimination of thePalestinian presence, with the expansion of the colonies and thepresence in the government with openly fascist positions; opposed byother Jews with progressive and pacifist positions. But the Gaza Strip now lives in terror and daily destruction, and allthis is turning into religious hatred which risks nullifying the realissue at stake: the self-determination of peoples. But I realize that addressing this question can lead us to slip into theabstractionism of any pope; but while the Pope invokes the Madonna andprayer as a means of resolution, admired by the Santoros on duty, for usthe enemies to fight, on both fronts, are first and foremost thegovernments that claim to represent the peoples, and with them also thereligious beliefs. Here, abstractness in this case is transformed into aperspective of struggle. And those who think this way are growing onboth fronts.Attention! Attention! the sixteenth general assembly on synodality, after 4 weeks of work, produced a final document which, after manycircumlocutions, manages to say nothing new! To justify the nullity theydefined the text as a "blueprint for the work to be carried out in thesecond session of 2024".Highlights: "accompany everyone, including those who have suffered abuseand wounds in the Church". But take them where? to the police station toreport pedophile priests? or towards the tortuous path of time wasting? It is no coincidence that "there is still a long way to go", which"requires addressing the structural conditions that have allowed suchabuses and carrying out concrete gestures of penance". Translation: wewon't do anything. Also because there are those who fear "a debasementof the hierarchical nature of the Church", and "the reasons for theresistance to synodality" must be understood. The reference to the poor who ask the Church for "love" is inevitable, but "The most vulnerable among the vulnerable, in whose favor constantadvocacy action is necessary, are children in the womb and theirmothers". Regarding that special category of poor who are migrants, attention to language is recommended: "For example, a word like"mission", in contexts in which "the proclamation of the Gospel has beenassociated with colonization and even genocide" , is full of "a painfulhistorical legacy" and hinders communion. "Evangelizing in thesecontexts requires recognizing the mistakes made and learning a newsensitivity to these problems." Damn if they're right! And while I'm atit with the self-criticism, here's the direction to "identify thesystems that create or maintain racial injustice within the Church andfight them." All work to do. As in the case of women, the point that hadcreated the most suspense.Well, they too must be accompanied and understood. The women present atthe Synod say they spoke of "a Church that wounds". "Clericalism, chauvinism and an inappropriate use of authority continue to disfigurethe face of the Church and damage communion". What is required is "deepspiritual conversion and structural changes" as well as "a dialoguebetween men and women without subordination, exclusion or competition".Again with this "structural" to avoid calling things by their name:chauvinism, misogyny, patriarchy.Female diaconate? There are different opinions on women's access to thediaconate: for some it is an "unacceptable" step, "in discontinuity withTradition"; for others it would restore a practice of the early Church;still others see it as "an appropriate and necessary response to thesigns of the times" for "renewed vitality and energy in the Church".Then there are those who express "the fear that this request is theexpression of a dangerous anthropological confusion, by accepting whichthe Church would align itself with the spirit of the time". For thisreason, the participants in the Synod ask to continue "theological andpastoral research on women's access to the diaconate", using the resultsof the commissions specifically established by the Pope and thetheological, historical and exegetical research already carried out: "Ifpossible, the results should be presented at the next Session of theAssembly". Everything postponed... to September, even if cases ofemployment discrimination and unfair remuneration loom large, includingthose in the Church where "consecrated women are often considered cheaplabour". Male abusers will take care of it, of course! they are the onlyones who have the right role to do it.Another nice reference: the abuse issue "places many bishops in thedifficulty of reconciling the role of father and that of judge", it issuggested to "evaluate the opportunity of entrusting the judicial taskto another instance, to be canonically specified". However, the theme ofemotional and sexual education must be explored in depth, but toaccompany (again!) young people (those in the seminaries) on their pathof growth and to support the emotional maturation of those who arecalled to celibacy and consecrated chastity". Amen.Do you remember the case of the Antonio Provolo Institute in Verona?that "home" for the deaf and dumb and other disabled young people wherefor at least fifty years priests and carers committed the worst torturesand the most disgusting sexual abuses on children? Twenty priests andclerics reported, on whom abuse was proven, following the report of 15former students, took advantage of the statute of limitations. Not so inArgentina, where the same bad things happened in the Provolo branches ofMendoza and La Plata: here the Buenos Aires court proved to be muchquicker than the Italian one by inflicting 45 years in prison on thepriest Horacio Hugo Corbacho Blank former director of Mendoza; 42 yearsold to the Italian priest Nicola Bruno Corradi Soliman, already veryactive in Verona; 18 years to Armando Ramòn Gòmez Bravo, employee of thereligious institute, while the other Italian priest, Eliseo Pirmati, fled from Argentina and took refuge, do you know where? at Provolo diVerona!Brother Doubtfulhttps://www.sicilialibertaria.it/_________________________________________A - I N F O S N E W S S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.ca
