WORLD WORLDWIDE BRAZIL News Journal Update - (en) Brazil, CAB: Manifesto: No to arbitrary dismissals in the São Paulo Metro (ca, de, it, pt, tr)[machine translation]

The Brazilian Anarchist Coordination stands in solidarity with thecomrades dismissed in the fight against the privatization of publictransport in SP. We signed, together with trade unions, unions, socialmovements and political parties, the manifesto demanding the readmissionof workers. ---- This manifesto is a reproduction of the CSP Conlutaswebsite available here. ---- To try to prevent the fight againstprivatizations and outsourcing in the state of SP, the Tarcísio deFreitas government fired eight subway workers, who are union leaders oractivists, shortly after the strike on November 3rd. But the measure hadan opposite reaction: the continuity of the struggle and broadsolidarity from the category and the entire trade union movement, insideand outside the country, as well as personalities and political parties. The campaign for the immediate readmission of comrades is gaining moreand more support and strength and was also among the demands on thesecond day of the unified strike that, once again, stopped São Paulo, this November 28th.Check out the manifesto below that repudiates arbitrary dismissals anddemands the reinstatement of the eight fired politicians from the SP Metro.MANIFESTO: NO TO LAYOFFS AT SP METRÔThe government and management of the Metro persecute those who fightagainst outsourcing and privatization. Reinstatement Now!Governor Tarcísio de Freitas and the SP Metro want to defeat the subwayworkers' fight against privatization, which harms the population byworsening and increasing the cost of public services. They want todefeat the workers who fight in defense of quality public transport atthe service of the population of SP and privatize some of the mostimportant state-owned companies in the state. To attack one of the most combative categories in SP, on 10/24 Tarcísioand Metrô fired 8 subway workers, and suspended 1, political dismissalsfor participating in the fight against privatization. Tarcísio suffereda defeat with the unified strike by Metrô, Sabesp and CPTM, as themajority of the population supported the strikers and has been speakingout against privatizations in the popular plebiscite. The dismissals also mean an attack on the union organization in anattempt to intimidate the union movement by targeting directors of theMetro Workers' Union, the vice-president of the Union, as well asmembers of CIPA. This is also an attack on the right to strike of subwayworkers who, after 10/3, suffered punishments and warnings, in clearretaliation for the strike movement. The fight against privatization and outsourcing is national and involvestransport, sanitation and numerous companies such as Petrobrás andCorreios. Workers at state-owned companies in SP are today at theforefront of this struggle, and it is of interest to the entirepopulation. The Metro dismissals are an attack on the entire unionmovement in the country! The Subway Workers' Union calls on all trade unions, unions, parties, intellectuals, jurists, deputies, human rights movements that defend therights of workers in Brazil and all countries to demand the immediatereinstatement of dismissed workers and the annulment of punishments .Fighting is not a crime! Down with layoffs at the Metro, no punishment!Reinstatement now!Brazilian Anarchist Coordination (CAB)https://cabanarquista.org/manifesto-nao-as-demissoes-arbitrarias-no-metro-de-sao-paulo/_________________________________________A - I N F O S  N E W S  S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.ca
