Vera Vita finds itself in a desperate situation, once again reaching out for your invaluable support. Despite previous appeals, the response has been heart-wrenchingly limited, leaving us in a dire state. We are almost out of food, and the youngest puppies are beginning to show signs of demodicosis, a painful skin condition that requires immediate treatment. The cost of their medication alone is overwhelming, but we cannot delay any longer—their health is deteriorating rapidly.

Food alone costs around €650/$700 per month!!

Our financial challenges are compounded by the urgent need to neuter and spay eight of our dogs. Without this procedure, they cannot be fully rehabilitated or considered for adoption, which is critical for their future. The cost of neutering these dogs is ± €300/$325, and this does not include the transportation to the clinic. With each day that passes, the situation becomes more critical.

We are in immediate need of 200 kg (440 pounds) of dry food and an equal amount of meat for the upcoming month. This essential provision will cost around €600/$655. It’s a staggering amount, but without it, our animals face starvation. Vera Vita had to incur debts to cover some of these necessities, but even these measures are not enough to sustain us for much longer.

As AFA we are deeply grateful to those who have helped so far. Because of you, seven puppies were successfully neutered last month, but the eighth remains untreated due to his poor health. Tragically, two of the puppies experienced complications after surgery and are still undergoing treatment. Your generosity made this possible, but the fight is far from over.

We also faced a heartbreaking emergency when one of our dogs, who had recently been sterilized, had to undergo another surgery due to severe complications. Her internal stitches gave way, causing her abdomen to swell and her intestines to spill out resulting in the poor puppy chewing the intestines — a horrifying situation that nearly took her life. Thanks to quick action and your previous support, we managed to save her, but the cost of her continued care is immense.
