solidarity with the Popular Resistance Movement (MRP) and its members,

act to repress leaders like Edson Silva and 10 other activists,
convicted in the second instance by the TJDFT based on accusations
without concrete evidence, supported by weak and questionable
testimonies. This persecution has been going on since 2015, after the
occupation of abandoned properties like the Saint Peter Hotel in Brasília.

The criminalization of social movements, aggravated under the
governments of Rodrigo Rollemberg (PSB) and Ibaneis Rocha (MDB), is a
direct attack on homeless families and those who fight for social
justice. The arrest of leaders and activists, as in the recent case of
the Terra Prometida encampment, demonstrates the oppressive nature of a
policy that favors real estate speculation to the detriment of
fundamental rights, such as housing.

We reiterate: we demand the immediate dismissal of all cases against
Edson Silva and other MRP activists! The fight for housing is not a
crime, it is a right.

We will continue to defend the MRP, which resists by organizing
demonstrations, solidarity campaigns and demanding dignity for the
marginalized population.
