 | Donations in Action There’s a quiet kind of heroism in what you do. |
| | When you give, you may not hear the purr of a once-tortured cat finally curled up safe, or the bray of a donkey rescued from unimaginable pain. You may never see the grateful eyes of a shelter worker as they cradle a wounded animal in their arms. But we do. And we want you to know—they feel it.
Today, we are honored to share just a few of the miracles you made possible. These stories are proof that kindness knows no borders, and that your compassion reaches into the darkest corners of suffering and brings light. |

| Rising from the Ashes: A Lifeline for LA’s Wildfire Victims |
| Country: United States Organization: Pasadena Humane in partnership with Animals First Aid Original Appeal: Emergency Help for Animals in LA Wildfires
When the Eaton Wildfire broke out in early January, the devastation was swift and merciless—forcing families to flee and leaving countless animals behind in panic and peril. But while the skies were filled with smoke and the ground still scorched, you made sure help arrived.
Thanks to your quick and compassionate response, and in partnership with the heroic team at Pasadena Humane, Animals First Aid was able to step in and deliver life-saving support to animals affected by the fires.
In the immediate aftermath, Pasadena Humane took in over 300 pets for emergency boarding on the night of January 7th. In the days and weeks that followed, they admitted over 1,500 animals, reuniting more than 2,000 animals with their families. From frightened pets to wildlife caught in the blaze, no animal was left behind. Your generosity ensured that these animals received not just shelter—but food, medical care, and love.
Now, as the embers settle, the need continues. Pasadena Humane has already distributed over 130,000 pounds of food and 15,000 pounds of litter and supplies this year. But their shelves are running low. That’s why Animals First Aid is now helping top up their food pantry and replenish urgently needed items, including: ● Dry and wet dog food ● Cat scratchers and trees ● Treats for training and recovery ● Poop bags and pet wipes ● Small carriers for displaced cats and dogs
Yvette Romero, Philanthropy Volunteer, shared, “Your generous commitment will allow Pasadena Humane to continue these crucial efforts. We are grateful beyond words.” From the moment the fire began to the ongoing recovery weeks later, you have been a part of this mission of mercy. Through your support, we have not only saved lives—we’ve restored hope to families and four-legged friends who nearly lost everything. Thank you for standing with us and Pasadena Humane in this critical time. The flames may be out, but the healing continues—and with your help, we’ll keep every tail wagging and every paw protected. |

| From Pain to Protection: Fighting Cat Torture in Morocco |
| Country: Morocco Organization: YOU CAN SAVE ME SHELTER (YCSM) Original Appeal: Cats Tortured, Wounded, Blinded, and Abandoned
In Morocco, cruelty hides in alleyways and behind closed doors. Fatim, the founder of You Can Save Me Shelter, has seen it firsthand—cats blinded, mutilated, discarded like trash. But thanks to your generosity, these victims are no longer alone. Seven sterilized. Dozens rescued. Countless others are now protected through outreach and legal pressure.
Fatim’s voice trembled with gratitude when she shared, “With Animals First Aid behind us, we are not just saving lives—we are building a future where cruelty is no longer tolerated.” And we’re not stopping there. We’ve launched a campaign to demand legal reform in Morocco—to ensure perpetrators of cat torture face consequences. Together with Fatim, we’re fighting for a future where no cat ever again suffers in silence.

| A Grant of Life: Rescuing Tanzania’s Forgotten Dogs |
| Country: Tanzania Organization: TAWESO Original Appeal: 6,000 Dogs Face Execution—Help Us Fight to Stop the Slaughter!
It started with a crisis—news broke that over 4,000 roaming dogs were set to be culled across Tanzania. The reason? Overpopulation, fear of rabies, and a system overwhelmed by suffering. But where others saw “problem dogs,” you saw lives worth saving. Dr. Thomas Kahema and his team at the Tanzania Animal Welfare Society didn’t hesitate. They mobilized rapidly, despite heavy rains and logistical challenges, driven by a fierce commitment to protect these animals from death and neglect. What came next was nothing short of historic.
Thanks to your incredible donations—and a life-changing grant that arrived just in time—TAWESO was able to launch a mass sterilization and rabies vaccination campaign across the entire Kibaha District, one of the hardest-hit areas. Over 10,000 dogs were targeted. Thousands have already been reached, vaccinated, treated for wounds, and spared from slaughter.
These weren’t just numbers. These were mothers with puppies, senior dogs who had survived the streets for years, and countless others who would have otherwise died terrified, alone, and unloved. Instead, they were met with care, kindness, and the healing they so desperately needed.
Dr. Kahema, filled with emotion, wrote: “This grant didn’t just fund vaccines—it restored hope. It gave us the power to act at a scale we’ve never seen before. We are now not only protecting dogs but protecting people by preventing the spread of rabies. Please thank all your donors from the bottom of our hearts.”
The campaign didn’t stop at treatment. TAWESO also carried out educational outreach, helping local communities understand the importance of humane animal control, responsible pet ownership, and the role of animals in community health. With each sterilization, each injection, each moment of compassion, we are writing a different story for Tanzania’s animals—one where they are not hunted, but helped.
The threat of mass culling still looms in other regions, but with your continued support, TAWESO is planning to expand the campaign further—saving even more dogs from the fate they were cruelly assigned.
Together, we are shifting the narrative—from fear to compassion, from death to dignity. Tanzania’s dogs finally have a voice. And that voice… is you.

| Beyond Rescue: Teddy’s Legacy and the Battle Ahead |
| Country: Morocco Organization: Sunshine Animal Refuge Agadir (SARA) Original Appeal: Emergency: Teddy, Severed and Suffering
Teddy was left to die—his hind legs and tail severed by human cruelty. But you refused to let that be his story. Because of your donations, Teddy received life-saving surgeries, healing hands, and the love he had always deserved. Today, he is thriving—strong, spirited, and surrounded by care. But the perpetrator who did this was never brought to justice.
This is why Animals First Aid is mobilizing again. Ahead of the FIFA World Cup, plans have emerged to eliminate stray animals en masse. We are preparing petitions, legal actions, and awareness campaigns—partnering with groups like SARA—to stop this violence before it begins.
Every dollar, every share, every voice matters. We will not let the world turn away. Not while Teddy still has a story to tell. |

| Blankets, Feed, and a Promise to Keep Them Warm |
| Country: South Africa Organizations: Blindlove Original Appeal: A Tragic Goodbye: Help Us Save Other Donkeys
When winter bites in South Africa, it doesn’t just bring cold—it brings death for animals without shelter or feed. Thanks to your support, Blindlove was able to distribute much-needed feed to exhausted working horses and donkeys. Philippa du Toit, the heart behind Blindlove, described -13°C nights, no grazing, and animals huddled in desperation. But you stepped in. Your donations helped launch a blanket drive, sustained feeding operations, and even sparked hope to preserve wooden field shelters that are quickly decaying. Philippa wrote, “When I saw the donation alert, I cried. I felt like someone finally saw what we go through. What they go through.”
These equines still need us. They still face frostbite, starvation, and loneliness. But with you beside us, we can carry them through another winter—and into a better life.

| A Miracle in Lanseria: The Seven Cats Who Escaped a Lifetime of Suffering |
| Country: South Africa Organization: Lanseria Ferals Original Appeal: Stop the Sickening Torture of Cats in South Africa
Seven feral cats. Six girls, one boy. All sterilized just in time. Nina Wilson, chairlady of Lanseria Ferals, sent us photos—each cat now safe, calm, and parasite-free after receiving flea and tick treatments. But behind the images was a plea: “Can you imagine how many kittens we would have had if we hadn’t done this?” It’s true. Sterilizing even one female cat can prevent hundreds of births. Multiply that by seven, and the impact is astounding.
Your donations didn’t just change lives—they stopped suffering before it began. Nina’s team still cares for many more ferals, feeding and sheltering them with meager resources. But thanks to you, they can keep going. You are their lifeline. You are their miracle. |
