The man who pointed the gun is a known neo-nazi, linked with the far right group Sauvons Calais. He has been arrested and will be tried in court (he is out on bail now). There is a facebook group to defend him, counting already 6000 members.
Neo-nazis attacks on migrants and refugees in Calais have intensified, there is the green car with the two men and one woman, and there are others. They are also attacking activists and volunteers, and whomever helps the refugees. People are receiving insults, threats and death threats on facebook pages.
The 'patrols' from the Calaisens en colere (angry Calesians) have been suspended, after they were told to stop by a senior PAF officer (PAF=Police aux frontieres, border police). This following the work by Calais Migrant Solidarity exposing fascist/racist violence and obvious collaboration with police. The 'story' went on the newspapers, in France on Liberation and in UK on The Mirror.
But neo-nazi activity around 'the jungle', near the Eurotunnel and in the town centre has not stopped, it has intensified and gone underground. There are gangs of nazi thugs going around, especially at night, armed with knives, gas and guns. The attack on the Syrians was almost lethal, one of the Syrians was taken to Lille hospital for specialist care and put on a life support machine. These bastards are acting with impunity since the police protect them. In the past, nazis who attacked migrants were arrested by police and put behind bars, but now the situation has changed, there is ongoing collaboration between neo-nazis and police forces, and the authors of numerous attacks in the last two years have never been arrested, despite some migrants and associations pressing charges and giving descriptions of the attackers. In the last attack the 10 attackers were masked. It is believed that some individual police officers and security men are directly involved with the neo-nazi groups who make these attacks.
