different. People from different social strata are protesting, and some of those in the
middle, "reasonable" age, have come to the streets for the first time in their lives.
Ideologically, the movement is more and more diverse but united in resisting the
neoliberal destruction of society. And it is united even in the radicality of protests -
in symbolic violence in prominent neighborhoods. Most importantly, the current mass
movement has no leader or speaker, organizes social networks, and acts as an action black
block in the streets. " Gilets jaunesreject all political leaders, all political parties,
and any form of political mediation. Nobody really knows how to confront or deal with this
movement - not the media, the government, nor anyone else. What we are witnessing is
