In Argentina, abortion is illegal except in cases of rape or when the life of health of the woman is at risk.

In 2018, the Senate narrowly rejected a bill that would have legalized abortion in Argentina. Since then, women have continued to undergo unsafe abortions, putting their lives and health at risk.

The country’s president publicly supports decriminalizing abortion and has promised to submit a bill to do so. It’s high time for Argentina to legalize abortion and advance sexual and reproductive rights.
