Critically-needed animal ambulance crashed! PLEASE, help us get another ambulance as quickly as possible!

Please donate now

Dear friends,

We have just heard that an ambulance owned by our partner DIOZ has been involved in an accident in Ukraine and is so badly damaged that it cannot be driven. Even worse news is that because of the war, no one knows how long it will take to repair, or even if it can be repaired in the war zone.

Thanks to your help, we have already bought two animal ambulances to help abandoned pets and street dogs and cats in the terrible Ukraine war. Now, we must reach out to you and ask you to stand with us again.

Please donate now
This is a HUGE BLOW for the team - and the animals we could be saving!
DIOZ urgently needs a working ambulance. Hundreds of cats and dogs depend upon it. DIOZ does amazing work, driving thousands of miles/kilometers each week into Ukraine from its Polish base to take in pet food and bring sick and abandoned animals to safety.
If another ambulance is needed to help animals, then with your support, that’s what we MUST provide.
Please donate right now if you possibly can - time is of the essence!

The two animal ambulances we bought perform valuable rescue missions.
The first ambulance we gave to our partner Foundation ADA (FADA) is working day and night to travel to a run-down shelter in Ukraine where 200 animals were found in terrible condition. Volunteers at the shelter burst into tears when they first saw our ambulance arrive with food and salvation for the terrified animals. The ambulance is making constant trips to the shelter to deliver food and evacuate cats and dogs.

We gave the second ambulance to veterinarian Dr. Pavlina Harasym, who lives in Lviv in Ukraine, because she was using just a tiny car to rescue one or two animals at a time, and there are hundreds of animals that still need evacuation. There really are no words to describe the selfless dedication of people like Dr. Pavlina, but it takes a terrible toll on each and every one of them. We have to report that this week, Dr. Pavlina collapsed from exhaustion and was admitted to a hospital in Poland. Fortunately, she is getting better, and she and our ambulance will be back at work soon. Our very best wishes, Pavlina.

We must work even faster to get as many homeless dogs and cats off the streets of Ukraine as possible. This nightmare for the animals seems to never end! It gets worse, and worse, and worse every single day!
For us, the Ukraine war is an ever-escalating animal crisis that keeps our tireless teams on the roads 24/7, rushing into the war zone despite Russian planes flying overhead and the suffocating, ever-present risk of death, to do everything in their might to get animals out.
We have reached places no international help has reached before... shelters where living animals eat the dead from hunger. We have reached places on the frontline. Rockets flying above us, bombs exploding next to us. We managed to evacuate dozens of animals while escaping gunfire... Now we know where our help is really needed! (DIOZ, Facebook post)

These evacuation efforts are feats of epic proportions. During the past few weeks, our partners have faced increasing resistance at the Polish/Ukrainian border as they’ve tried to get abandoned animals across. The Polish veterinary inspectorate has been clamping down on the types and numbers of street animals it is permitting to cross into Poland.
Our ambulances work day and night to get animals off the street before they are shot, bombed, or starve to death.
Please, help us get another animal ambulance to rescue these terrified, helpless animals!
Please donate now
YOUR ambulances - the life-saving ambulances YOUR donations made possible - are having a major impact. Please, help us to purchase another ambulance as quickly as possible for DIOZ so we can license it, insure it, and get it on the road. This new ambulance will go into some of the most dangerous areas of Ukraine to reach animals at the greatest risk.
Please donate now
Our hope is that in the future, the animals we help rescue will find loving homes and families or be reunited with their owners. Your donations are their lifeline - the first step towards a second chance at a happy, peaceful life. Your donations get them out of the war zone and out of harm’s way.

Please, donate right now. Stay by our side so that we can save precious cat and dog lives. No matter how great or small your donation, it all starts with you.

For the animals,

P.S. The need is so great that we have to work even harder to feed and rescue Ukraine’s war-stricken animals. The immediate need is for another animal ambulancePlease donate now to help us buy one and bring food and salvation to desperate dogs and cats who have no one but us to save them.
