The Buric magazine began to be published in 2021, and an incredible five issues
were published that year. He went completely silent in 2022, but fortunately itwas only a longer break. So I was delighted when the anarchist information groupAlterNativE released its sixth issue at the end of February this year. Inaddition, further numbers are promised in the editorial. ---- Even after thefirst page through, it is obvious that the "six" is mainly composed oftranslations. It's a bit of a shame though. After all, Buric is the onlyanarchist magazine that is published in Slovakia, so I was a little sorry that Icouldn't find out more about what was happening there on its pages. In more thana year since the previous issue, there was certainly a lot to write about. But inorder not to be unfair, it is necessary to mention two reports from discussionevenings - one in the premises of the Malatesta infoshop and archive of radicalliterature connected with correspondence to imprisoned anarchists, and the otheron the topic "What happened to anarchists in Slovakia", which took place in thecultural-community center A hole in the world in LiptovskéNicholas. Likewise, it's a bit of a shame that there aren't more original texts. It will certainly not be that anarchists in Slovakia have nothing to say.But away from what is not in the number to what is in it. Historical retrospectswill bring to mind Mujeres Libres, a women's anarchist organization from Spain inthe 1930s, the famous Italian anarchist Luigi Fabbri (1877-1935) or theideological contribution of Michael Bakunin. The chapter from Kropotkin's bookBuric's speech devoted to revolutionary governments - as he could evaluate thembased on the experiences of the time in which he wrote the text - could bedescribed as something between history and theory. The theoretical articledevoted to anarchist organizational practice is a continuation of the study"Anarchism and the Politics of Affinity Groups" by Francis Dupuis-Déri. It isgood to think with the author about how friendship and proximity can influenceways of organizing. Another text deals with the importance of the principle ofsolidarity in relation to anarchism. "For anarchists, mutual aid is a fundamentalfeature of human life, a source of strength and satisfaction, and a basicprerequisite for a full human existence."In the end, I kept the article "Ethical Issues of 'Ethical Consumption'", whichfloats in several places. First, "ethical consumption" is a neutral term and themotivations that enter into it must be taken into account. It can assume theposition of one of the lifestyles offered within capitalism, as well asanti-capitalist and, if possible, extra-capitalist tendencies. It is rather boldto say that the first form is a pacifier of defiance. If there is noanti-capitalist resistance somewhere, it is difficult to pacify it. Nevertheless, one has to agree with the message - without an active anti-capitalist attitude,"ethical consumption" is a slap in the face, it can be beneficial in partialaspects, but it does not make society as a whole more ethical.I look forward to the next issues.Buric No. 6/2021. 161% informative periodical. 40 A5 pages.
