Dear Comrades: ---- We are the group of anarchists on the Korean peninsula
working under the name "Our Mutual Aid: Malanquism". Currently, we at "Our MutualHelp: Malanquism" are working with the Tourism and Leisure Industries Union ofthe Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, Hotel Sejong branch, for the reversalof the unfair dismissals of hotel workers. Given the situations that we willexpose punctually, we require your help and that of as many comrades as we canreach. ---- 1. Hotel Sejong, located in downtown Seoul, is a 4-star hotel that, under its founding director Joo Meyong-Geon, since 2011, has become accustomed tothe exploitation of local workers.2. In 2011, Joo Myeong-Geon introduced a company-dominated union, with thepurpose of replacing the existing single workers' union. The single union lostthe majority, and under the agreement between the company union and the companyitself, labor exploitations began.2.1. In 2012, the company and its union decided to freeze and reduce wages for 9years. Some workers lost up to 40% of their wages in the process.2.2. In the same year, to increase the hotel's profit, Joo Myeong-Geon fired 251workers out of the 290 that there were at the time.3. In December 2021, the director dismissed 15 more workers, replacing them withirregular contractors.3.1. The workers thus dismissed started protests for the reversal of unfairdismissals, a protest in which "Our Mutual Help: Malanquism" has participatedsince then.4. On December 23, 2022, one of our comrades stayed with his friends at the hotelwith the aim of giving news to the locality.4.1. For this occasion, the hotel, having disposed of most of its workers, hadstopped offering room and breakfast services to its guests.4.2. The dismissed union members, in the form of protest, offered breakfast tothe guests in the street in front of the hotel.4.3. Our comrade and his friends, informed of this fact, decided to distributeleaflets to the guests of the same Hotel Sejong, inviting them to join the freebreakfast prepared by the union, in the hotel.5. On March 2, the same comrade was informed, through a telephone call with thepolice, that the hotel had sued him with the charge of breaking and entering.5.1. In addition, having reviewed the complaint, we discovered that the hotel, through five surveillance cameras installed in front of the location, had beenillegally collecting information about our participation in the protests carriedout every week in that same place.5.2. The hotel not only denounced our comrade, but also the branch director ofthe union for having conspired in this "plot" against their company, despite thefact that the unionist was not involved in the simple distribution of leaflets.Although we tried to summarize the facts as concisely as possible, we couldn'tfinish the almost endless list of fouls committed by Joo Myeong-Geon and hismanagers. However, we hope that we still made Joo Myeong-Geon's evil obsessionevident in his reprehensible pursuit of power and profit. The absurd nature ofthe demand is clear. The hotel waited more than two months to make its complaint, demanding that those who paid for fair accommodation, whose only crime - if any -would have been that of having marginally benefited the unionist protest, organized solely to accuse the actions of the same hotel . And to know that JooMyeong-Geon and his lawyers used this occasion to sue the union's branchdirector, who, again, we clarify, was not involved in the leaflet distribution!Even with the impact of this legal mess that Joo Myeong-Geon and his team ofhypocritical lawyers have dragged us into, "Our Mutual Aid: Malanquism" will notcease in its fight against the State and Capital. Without changing plans, we willparticipate in the protest for the reversal of unfair dismissals, this Thursday,March 16th. And that same day at 1 pm, Korean time, we will have a pressconference where we will present the facts that we explained earlier. We therefore request a show of solidarity from respectable Hispanic comrades withour struggle against Director Joo and the vile hotel managers. Transmission ofphotos of those who wish to show solidarity with us or even a simple writtenstatement of solidarity will be of great help to our hearts, especially for thosewho have been sued by the hotel.About the logistical details. In case you can send us either photos or signeddeclarations - and even both -, we inform you that we can translate both Englishand Spanish into Korean and share it not only with other comrades in Malanquism, but also with comrades in the Industry Union of Tourism and Leisure, Hotel Sejongbranch. However, although we are not restricted by language, we are pressed fortime, as the conference will be on Thursday afternoon, so if you can send usletters, we would greatly appreciate it if you could send them to the no laterthan Tuesday &agr ave; night UTC'6, so that we can also translate the texts. With all of the above, we wish to end this letter. Thanks in advance, and solidarity in all your present and future struggles. To fight without ceasing. Our Mutual Aid: Malanquism.malangkism.tistory.comTranslation > Sun of Aprilanarchist-ana news agencyhttps://noticiasanarquistas.noblogs.org/post/2023/03/17/coreia-do-sul-chamada-a-solidariedade-com-malanquismo/_________________________________________A - I N F O S N E W S S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.caSPREAD THE INFORMATION
