Almost 6 months of mass massacres in Gaza! While Netanyahu tries to
widen the conflict and prepares to bomb Rafah, solidarity in France
faces unprecedented political repression. It's about not giving up. ----
More than 30,000 dead, very probably more, a territory in ruins, risks
of disease and famine, wounded and mutilated en masse in a situation of
lack of care. Added to this are the threats of withdrawal of subsidies
weighing on UNRWA, the main aid organization for refugees and the
Palestinian people.
While the risk of genocide has been confirmed since November, now
supported by South Africa's complaint, and violence and murders by
settlers are increasing in the West Bank, it is no longer in dispute
that we are witnessing crimes against humanity, aiming at the total
destruction of Gazan society, in continuation of the colonial project of
the Israeli government. Israel is now carrying out fire on Lebanon with
the complicity of the USA, which for its part is carrying out fire in
Yemen and Iraq.
Indeed, Netanyahu, today in an ejection seat, is betting on a
generalized explosion in the region through multiple provocations, the
only way for him to ensure that Western support does not waver in the
face of rising global protests.
A winning mobilization
For its part, France, although it discreetly raises its voice at times,
continues to supply satellites and sell weapons to the state of Israel
and finds itself complicit in crimes against humanity! Around the world,
several mobilizations to block arms depots have taken place. Not yet in
France.
The Stop Arming Israel France campaign was recently created for this
purpose.
The repression and intimidation of support for Palestine have taken on
unprecedented proportions in France on the part of the State[1]and civil
society[2]. The pro-Israeli consensus is hardening, shaken by the
mobilizations that have continued in the streets since October.
This McCarthyite atmosphere crosses the left as evidenced by the Paris
town hall's ban on public meetings with Judith Butler organized by the
decolonial Jewish collective Tsedek, attacked for its assumed anti-Zionism.
However, the actions and campaigns initiated by different collectives
and the BDS campaign[3]are widely mobilizing; several actions and
collectives are being created in working-class neighborhoods. Bringing
in more and more union sectors and the world of work must be an
objective for the revolutionaries in the months to come.
Despite the scale of the massacre, the Palestinian resistance in Gaza,
which brings together all Palestinian political components, is in no way
defeated and inflicts significant losses on the Israelis. International
mobilization is not weakening, particularly in the United States, and
the West is definitively discredited by its double standards.
International solidarity here is a front of struggle to cut the
umbilical cords of colonization! It is about strengthening it in France
by waging various ideological, political and anti-racist battles. Among
them, let's attack the idea that has gained consensus in France and has
legitimized support for Israel for years: let's call into question the
"war on terrorism"!
