ACS - RESPONSE TO THE CURRENT EMERGENCY (war in Gaza)

Place of intervention: SOUTHERN Gaza Strip - Deir El Balah, Nuseirat,
Zwaida, Khan Younis, Mawasi and Rafah

Description of the intervention:

Since the start of Israeli military action, the people of Gaza have been
in immediate need of emergency humanitarian aid; with the donations made
since the beginning, we provide food, medicines, drinking water and Cash
Assistance and Cash for work to 5000 families. Every day we provide over
2500 hot meals to the displaced people of Mawasi.

ACS's intervention consists in bringing aid which is distributed through
volunteers and local staff, for the daily supplies of the displaced,
which are distinguished in different ways:

1. Cash assistance to allow families to make independent purchases and
money in exchange for work done as compensation for the work done

2. distribution of basic necessities (tents, blankets, mattresses and
winter clothing)

3. food distribution (fresh food, hot food, canned food available on the
local market)

4. setting up of public toilets to be positioned in the various
emergency areas for displaced people, in order to avoid the accumulation
of fecal material scattered in densely populated settlements and
partially remedy ongoing health problems, guaranteeing the tools for
excavation, cleaning and maintenance.

5. cleaning and management of waste in shelters and hospitals, paying
local staff and in areas where tent cities are being built for the
displaced population, in order to prevent the accumulation of waste
produced within the refugee centers or in the their vicinity exposes
people to very high risks of infections and diseases from
bacteriological contamination.

6. Psychosocial and recreational activities for children organized by
circus troupes and operators

7. organization and shipment of basic necessities from abroad

8. Activation of an emergency "communication network" for the
