No Food and Medicine: Support Susmita’s Mission to save 100s of strays

Dear ,

In the bustling streets of Kolkata, West Bengal, India, where the cries of hungry, neglected animals often go unheard, there is one person who listens — Susmita. A dedicated animal lover with a heart as vast as the city she serves, Susmita has been a lifeline for the abused and abandoned animals that roam the streets, many of whom are victims of a growing feeding crisis.

The monthly requirement to keep her mission alive is around $600 to $700

Every single day, without fail, Susmita steps out to feed over 100 stray dogs, braving the challenges of limited resources and the overwhelming need around her. But the situation is dire. The number of hungry stray dogs is rising, and without immediate support, Susmita’s ability to continue this vital work is at risk.

Susmita is not just a caregiver,Luc; she is a saviour for these voiceless souls. With no one else to rely on, she has taken it upon herself to provide immediate medication to the strays that often go unnoticed by the public and authorities. Despite living in an area as small as 30 square meters (±300 ft), she sacrifices her own comfort to save money for these animals, ensuring that every possible dollar goes towards their care.

The reality is harsh. The cost of feeding and medicating these malnourished dogs is immense, and Susmita has reached a point where she cannot continue alone. Her dream of creating a “MEDICINE BANK” to supply free medicines to dog owners and fellow rescuers is on hold due to the financial strain. The bank would be a lifeline, providing costly, life-saving medicines to those who otherwise couldn’t afford them.

The monthly requirement to keep her mission alive is around $600 to $700 — an amount that covers the basic needs of food and immediate medical supplies for these strays. Without this support, the future for these animals looks bleak.
