 The anarcho-syndicalist trade union ZSP (section of the International

Workers' Association in Poland) has been successfully fighting against
the practice of non-payment of wages in the large supermarket chain
"Zhabka" for several years now. In many cases, the store franchises hire
workers without concluding an employment contract with them and do not
pay them their earnings - partially or even in full. ---- Another
conflict broke out in a store on Ogorodowa Street in Warsaw. The
management hired a 16-year-old student and paid him only 1/6 of the
money he earned. The worker contacted ZSP. At first, the owners
completely denied the fact of non-payment of earnings, and it was
decided to organize a protest picket outside the store.

Literally a couple of days before the action, the owners paid the worker
the entire amount owed. Another small victory was achieved!

But the anarcho-syndicalists decided that the problem had not
disappeared at all, since there was no guarantee that such practices
would not be repeated. Therefore, the picket was held - to remind that
ZSP continues to monitor the situation, and to draw public attention to
the abuses that exist in these stores and in the retail network as a whole.
