Good morning,

Off the back of an EU summit last week dominated by disputes over migration control and the wars in Ukraine and the Middle East, MEPs decamp to Strasbourg for a European Parliament plenary session where the EU’s budget, single market, and migration will top the agenda this week.

Expect another big report to dominate the headlines, as former Italian prime minister Enrico Letta presents his report on how to reform the EU’s single market. Published back in April, Letta’s paper dovetails with fellow former Italian premier and ECB boss Mario Draghi’s paper on the state of the EU’s competitiveness, which MEPs debated several weeks ago.

Also on the menu are MEPs debating migration, voting on the 2025 budget and a planned delay of the anti-deforestation law by one week.
