Two Horse "Trainers" Were Caught on Video Beating a Horse as It Lay Helpless on the Ground      Sign Now      Dear friends,   Professionals that work with animals have a critical responsibility in caring for the living beings with which they're entrusted. That makes the following story that much more disturbing. In Idaho, two horse trainers were caught on video mercilessly beating a horse that lay defenseless on the ground.   Instead of fostering trust and empathy, these trainers resorted to horrific violence, using tools like a pipe and a two-by-four to beat and whip this poor horse over and over again.   Unfortunately, Idaho's animal cruelty laws are alarmingly lenient. Since this is their first offense, these trainers may only face minimal consequences, like a small fine as small as $100. This is unacceptable, as it fails to hold abusers accountable for their actions and does nothing to deter future cruelty.   We must demand action to protect animals from such atrocities. Sign the petition urging Idaho lawmakers to amend animal cruelty laws to ensure that even first offenses can be classified as felonies and sentenced as such. Together, we can work to prevent further abuse and ensure that those who mistreat animals face real consequences!
