On November 25, we will demonstrate against patriarchal violence
committed by men. While it is essential to point out and fight againstit, we must not forget that it should not be understood as isolated
cases but as the extreme form of domination of women and gender
minorities by patriarchy. ---- From the assignment to domestic tasks and
to the discredited and underpaid professional care sectors; from sexual
harassment in the street to that of our places of celebration and
socialization, from the insult to the hand on the buttocks, to the rapes
so little condemned by society; we continue our fight against this
continuum of exploitation and violence, against the patriarchal system,
and the capitalist system.
Every year in France, the official figures themselves deny the
exploitation of VSS by the far right: one in two women has already
suffered sexual violence, in 2023, 136 women died following femicides
(111 to date in 2024). In 91% of cases of violence, the women knew their
attacker. Like many, the far right was outraged by the murder of
Philippine, but unlike many others it failed to denounce the rape of a
child by three firefighters, whose trial is taking place at the same
time, or that of Dominique Pélicot, who for 9 years orchestrated the
rape of his wife by 80 people. The men who commit these crimes are not
strangers or monsters unknown to everyone but "Mr. Everyman", our
companions, our fathers, our brothers. Their actions can only be
understood in the context of a patriarchal system that allows them to
dispose of women's bodies. As a reminder, the Barnier government is a
veritable procession of the "Manif pour tous": eight ministers come from
its ranks. To their credit: Fight against the opening of marriage to
LGBT+ people, transphobic remarks, opposition to the
constitutionalization of abortion...
Internationally, wars make women and children increasingly vulnerable.
Today, they are combined with increasingly reactionary and liberal
governments such as Milei in Argentina or Donald Trump in the United
States. In an increasingly divided American society, masculists are
having a field day: they castigate the rights of trans people and attack
the legality of abortion. Nick Fuentes, an influential podcaster,
nationalist, racist and negationist opened hostilities the same evening
as the results with a video entitled "your body, our choice". The war
against women is on.
Not only do we denounce male violence against women and gender
minorities, but we also work to abolish patriarchy as a whole. We
participate in stemming the impunity of aggressors, in particular by
applying protocols for managing sexist and sexual violence in our
organizations. We fight the extreme right and its instrumentalization of
patriarchal violence for racist purposes. Finally, let us fight against
capitalism, which participates in this violence by assigning women to
domestic and reproductive work under the control of men.
Tirelessly, wherever we work, wherever we live, we must organize
ourselves, fight, and build a balance of power: - To obtain social
progress (pensions, salaries, working hours, distribution of wealth, etc.)
- To obtain resources for associations that fight daily against VSS and
for the rights of women and LGBTI people
- To obtain the regularization of all exiled and undocumented people
- To denounce the role of the French state in these conflicts, demand a
halt to arms exports and fight against the militarization of society
- To denounce all political and religious fascisms whose first victims
are always women and children.
