 The Czechoslovak Anarchist Association (CAS) has published a special

issue of CASák, this time the topic is anarchist theory. We bring you a
review. ---- A clear and concise explanation of anarchist positions is
an essential part of promoting anarchist ideas. The movement is not far
behind in this, for example the AF publishing house recently published
the book Anarchism: A Very Brief Introduction by Colin Ward. A summary
of our positions also appears annually on May Day anarchist flyers.
However, the entire magazine on this topic, moreover for a symbolic
price, was somewhat missing here.

The introductory article The Goal of Anarchism: Prosperity for All is a
great introduction to anarchist ideas. The following are several
articles on anarchist politics and economics, where the system of
anarchist communism is explained mainly with concrete examples. A great
addition to the text is also the "questions and answers" section, where
questions that ordinary people come up with almost "at first glance"
when they encounter anarchism ("Why don't you start a political party?",
"How will businesses be managed?") are briefly answered. etc.)

There is, of course, room for a shift in every magazine. It is no
different in the new issue of CASák, whose propaganda style is
reminiscent of agitation materials from the 1950s. Something more civil
would certainly be appropriate in the title of the introductory article,
because the slogan "welfare for all" rather evokes the visions of
utopian socialists, which in the past were realized only on paper.
Likewise, the "anarchist test" on the last page of the magazine, the
questions of which are formulated in such a way that probably most
readers would pass it "correctly".

If we were to summarize the fifth issue of CASák, it is certainly good
that something like this is published. The periodical is written in a
simple and readable style, which can be especially interesting to the
working class, to whom the often complex political concepts of Slacálk
or Novak mean nothing at all.
