A nuclear power plant in a region with constant earthquakes? Why not?
This is exactly what the Russian government decided, including in itsplans the construction of a nuclear power plant in the Irkutsk region by
2041. Among other things, the construction of wind generators and solar
panels is planned. ---- Irkutsk is one of the sunniest cities in Russia.
It is not clear why they should not limit themselves to solar panels.
But it is clear that nuclear energy is, at the very least, a debatable
solution. ---- But, as always, they forgot to ask the residents of the
Irkutsk region. It is as if the government lives on another planet.
Perhaps because of this, they can calmly discuss the construction of new
nuclear power plants. But, in addition to the fact that they are cut off
from the needs of the people, they are also cut off from the real
problems of the regions.
Racism in Russian football
"... But we definitely don't have racism in our country. This is a
provocation against a key player of the team in order to help their own.
This is unfair play."
This is how State Duma deputy Zhurova commented on the racist shouts
directed at a dark-skinned footballer of Norilsk Nickel.
It is possible that Zhurova herself has not encountered racism. But it
is more likely that she simply prefers not to notice it. However, not
noticing the problems of the residents of Russia is, it seems, part of
the responsibility of State Duma deputies.
Racism is widespread even in relation to other peoples of Russia. If
Zhurova thinks that there is no problem with racism, then let her ask,
for example, the residents of Yakutia, Buryatia or Chechnya. These
peoples can easily talk about systemic and non-systemic manifestations
of racism towards them.
But there is no problem with racism. And there are no other problems
that need to be discussed and solved. After all, LGBT has already won,
quadrobers have been reined in, childfree has been banned. And now there
are no more problems that would worry the residents of Russia. Deputies
can only return to the eternal topic. To regulating video games.
They are taking up video games again
"In recent years, there have been a number of cases of attacks by
students on students and teachers in schools. The actions were provoked
by their participation in video games. Children and teenagers,
committing such acts, often think that they continue to be in the
virtual world, since the line between it and reality is erased."
Volodin again begins a story about how teenagers confuse reality and
games. Deputies have long been using polls in Telegram to justify some
restrictive measures. And everyone knows that such polls are very easily
faked, and that they, like deputies, cannot be considered representative
of public opinion.
There is enough data that shows that violence in video games does not
cause violence in real life. And if in your society video games
influence a person much more than the people around them, school and
family, then something is wrong with your society, and the problems
should not be looked for in video games.
We are not going to say that games do not influence people. Of course
they do. And movies, books and music also influence. But collective
experiences of violence will always have a greater influence on society.
One of such experiences was born, among other things, thanks to Volodin.
Revolutionary processes in one country drag revolutionary processes in
others. Authoritarian and fascist transformations are also rarely not
adopted by other countries.
Trump and Toronto in three days
For example, let's look at the United States. Trump has not yet taken
office as president, but he is already showing his imperialistic grin.
In a couple of weeks, he has already managed to propose making Canada
the 51st state of the United States, buy Greenland from Denmark, and
threatened to return the Panama Canal to US control.
It is not clear how seriously he is ready to organize "little
victories", but few believed that Russia would begin an invasion of
Ukraine. When the invasion first began, many thought that if it was
successful, it would give other authoritarian countries a signal that
they could start seizing territories. Now it turns out that this
practice may be of interest to many more countries. And today NATO
member countries are already spreading their tentacles.
It remains to hope that just as this authoritarian trend began, an
anti-authoritarian one will begin. And I want to believe that it will
begin on Russian territory.
But for now, repressions and war continue in our country.
"Free States" are recognized as a terrorist organization
The other day, the FSB recognized the "Forum of Free States of
Post-Russia" as a terrorist organization with a record number of
structural divisions, among others, one anarchist organization is listed
in the "structural divisions". As the Buryat anarchist channel
"Khubishal" writes, this organization is ERA (Exposition of
Revolutionary Anarchism), which operated in the Kama region and Crimea.
Now it most likely no longer exists.
It is also interesting that a large number of "structural divisions" are
not real organizations, but inventions of the forum participants. The
list includes all significant opposition organizations of indigenous
peoples, as well as Russian regionalists. The FSB clearly tried,
scrupulously recorded everyone who was mentioned on the forum walls,
without bothering to check the reality of these organizations. It is
strange that BOAK is not on the list, but ERA is - this cannot be
explained at the moment.
This year, we can all end up on the list of terrorists and extremists.
Or we can make it so that all these lists could be used as kindling. It
all depends on us.
