From July 28 to August 3, 2025, participate in a week of discussions,
debates, training, and relaxation in the hamlet of Bécours, in Aveyron.Every year, the Summer Days are an opportunity for the libertarian
communist movement to meet or reconnect, share experiences, deepen
knowledge, discuss current events, and share moments of conviviality.
The setting is magnificent: the hamlet of Bécours, in Aveyron
(municipality of Verrières). We therefore invite UCL members and their
supporters to participate, as well as subscribers to Alternative
Libertaire and subscribers to the Friends of Alternative Libertaire.
Their partners and children are also welcome.
The program is currently being developed. It is being proposed by UCL
committees, working groups, and local groups. For the first time, this
edition has adopted a central theme: anti-racism and anti-imperialism,
around which the majority of the program will be built, consisting of
workshops, discussion sessions, and collective development. This week is
also an opportunity to meet our comrades from our sister organizations
in other countries, who regularly participate in these events.
To complement this program, walks, games, a bar, a bookstore, team
sports, singing, and festive evenings will be offered. This week will
also be an opportunity to practice public speaking or writing articles
for the newspaper.
The summer days will also allow you to experience self-management at a
summer camp, for example by participating in general meetings and
forming teams to prepare meals, provide services, wash dishes, maintain
the grounds, etc. Check-in will be from Monday, July 28th, to Saturday,
August 2nd. Plan to be there at 5:00 pm for the opening general meeting.
Meals are included from Monday evening to Saturday lunchtime. Bring your
tent; accommodation is primarily in camping. A dormitory in an enclosed
space is available for those who need it. It is possible to bring
children; a dedicated area will be set aside for them, and two
counselors will be present for activities and to ensure the children's
inclusion and participation during this week.
Bécours is an old hamlet of stone houses renovated by the Éclaireuses et
Éclaireurs de France (Girl Scouts of France) and surrounded by a large
plot of land in the countryside. It is not suitable for everyone. If you
have any questions about accessibility, please do not hesitate to
contact us at jf@communisteslibertaires.org. To get there, carpools can
be arranged from Millau or Severac d'Aveyron (Engayresque Pass).
Rates will be specified when registration opens: we are doing our best
to ensure they are accessible to all. Furthermore, we are planning a
precarious rate and a solidarity rate. Registration will open soon and
will be done via the Union communiste libertaire website. Save your
dates now!
