Salut à Toots ! Pour survivre à ces dernières semaines d’hiver et penser à autre chose que l’angoissante actualité qui envahit nos écrans, rien de tel qu’un moment de musique avec ce qui se fait de mieux en jazz ici-bas. Mercredi, l’incontournable et hyper doué Wajdi Riahi s’entoure de deux piliers du jazz bruxellois pour ouvrir la jam : Sam Gertsmans et Marek Patrman. Jeudi, Joachim Caffonnette et Adinda Hertmans se retrouvent pour partager des standards, comme chaque mois, à l’heure de l’apéro. Le concert principal de la soirée voit le retour de la Juke Night, où notre all star du swing jouera l’irrésistible répertoire de John Kirby. Des arrangements fins et soignés qui reprennent de grands thèmes de la musique classique avec une classe et un bon goût rarement égalés ! Vendredi, on accueille le groupe parisien du bassiste et arrangeur Shimon Gambourg. Du hard bop très bien écrit, joué par une équipe de choc : une découverte à ne pas manquer. Adinda Hertmans sera à la tête d’un groupe de haut vol pour ouvrir la jam. Samedi, c’est une pointure mondiale qui passe par chez nous dans le cadre de sa tournée de présentation d’album. Adam O’Farrill, musicien jusqu’au bout des ongles et petit-fils de la légende cubaine Chico O’Farrill, était à 20 ans à peine troisième du très prestigieux concours Thelonious Monk et fut à deux reprises élu meilleur espoir de la trompette par la référence du genre : DownBeat Magazine. Joachim Caffonnette ouvrira la jam aux côtés de Géraud Portal et Gabriel Moraes. Dimanche, Tom MacGuire vous embarque à la grande époque du swing en rendant hommage à Frank Sinatra. Et pour finir la semaine, Lior Tzemach vient mettre le feu avec son groupe de virtuoses déchaînés. Salut Toots! Om deze laatste winterweken door te komen en even te ontsnappen aan het angstaanjagende nieuws dat onze schermen overspoelt, is er niets beter dan een moment muziek met het beste wat jazz hier te bieden heeft. Woensdag omringt de onmisbare en hypergetalenteerde Wajdi Riahi zich met twee pijlers van de Brusselse jazzscene om de jam te openen: Sam Gertsmans en Marek Patrman. Donderdag vinden Joachim Caffonnette en Adinda Hertmans elkaar terug rond standards, zoals elke maand, tijdens het aperitiefmoment. Het hoofdconcert van de avond ziet de terugkeer van Juke Night, waar onze all star van de swing het onweerstaanbare repertoire van John Kirby brengt. Fijne en verzorgde arrangementen die grote thema’s uit de klassieke muziek hernemen met een klasse en goede smaak die zelden geëvenaard worden! Vrijdag verwelkomen we de Parijse groep van bassist en arrangeur Shimon Gambourg. Zeer goed geschreven hard bop, gebracht door een topteam – een ontdekking die je niet mag missen. Adinda Hertmans staat aan het hoofd van een hoogstaand ensemble om de jam te openen. Zaterdag passeert een wereldtopper bij ons in het kader van zijn albumtour. Adam O’Farrill, muzikant tot in de vingertoppen en kleinzoon van de Cubaanse legende Chico O’Farrill, behaalde op amper 20-jarige leeftijd de derde plaats in de prestigieuze Thelonious Monk-competitie en werd twee keer uitgeroepen tot beste trompettalent door het toonaangevende DownBeat Magazine. Joachim Caffonnette opent de jam samen met Géraud Portal en Gabriel Moraes. Zondag neemt Tom MacGuire je mee naar de grote swingperiode met een hommage aan Frank Sinatra. En om de week af te sluiten, zet Lior Tzemach de boel in vuur en vlam met zijn groep losgeslagen virtuozen. On Wednesday, the ever-inspiring and hugely talented Wajdi Riahi is joined by two pillars of the Brussels scene to open the jam: Sam Gertsmans and Marek Patrman. On Thursday, Joachim Caffonnette and Adinda Hertmans return for their monthly aperitif session, sharing a selection of standards in their usual intimate style. Later that evening, Juke Night is back, with our swing all-star revisiting the irresistible repertoire of John Kirby. Expect finely crafted arrangements, reworking classical themes with elegance and unmistakable flair. On Friday, we welcome Paris-based bassist and arranger Shimon Gambourg and his band for a set of sharply written, straight-ahead hard bop. A tight outfit delivering music with bite and clarity — one not to miss. Adinda Hertmans leads a top-tier line-up to kick off the jam. On Saturday, we host a truly world-class artist as part of his album tour. Adam O’Farrill — musician to the core and grandson of Cuban legend Chico O’Farrill — placed third in the prestigious Thelonious Monk Competition at just 20, and was twice named Rising Star Trumpeter by DownBeat. A remarkable voice on the instrument. Joachim Caffonnette opens the jam alongside Géraud Portal and Gabriel Moraes. On Sunday, Tom MacGuire takes us back to the golden age of swing with a tribute to Frank Sinatra. To round off the week, Lior Tzemach brings the house down with his band of fiery virtuosos.
